Been up and running for about a week with no issues. Using EWBF and 4x 1070 with Windows 10. I noticed my hashrated dropped while I was at work.

I remoted in at 910am and noticed that Before it froze I was up to 9800ms or higher. Then at 914 it just stopped accepting new work and nothing happened.  I rebooted the miner and it recognized everything but wouldn’t do anything else after detecting the cards.

I rebooted the entire computer and then it started again working fine.

Is this common?  Is there a reason that this happened and anything I can do to fix this in the future?

This is normal. The computer always lives his life and if such cases occur you once a day is normal. It just so happened that one day this happens twice, but then a month is no problem at all. The only thing to check is your RAM not less than 4 GB and virtual memory is not below 16 GB. The same can happen if you do not have enough power supply. But again 1 time a day is normal.

Thanks, I was hoping it was something that is normal. Everything seems fine now. I can deal with this once a week, hopefully it doesnt turn into once a day.
