Best extender riser?

Hi

I want to move one of my gpus out of my case but I am not sure...please can you tell me this:

1)Which pci express extender riser is the best? I have seen different ones ... ver 006 ver 007 ver 008 also different power connection... molex, sata and 6 pin.

2) Is it safer to directly connect my psu to the extender or am I alright using the little cable (for conversion) that comes with the extender riser?

3) Does it work with all the motherboards?

All these questions have been answered before numerous times. Please use the Search function for any future questions.

1) I have version 006 and 007 both with 6pin pcie connections for power

2) DON’T use any adaptors/converters if you dont need to. Use a dedicated 6pin power cable. Throw away the sata—> 6pin converters they are rubbish.

3) As far as i know they work with all motherboards equipped with the relevant pcie connections, 1x,8x,16x

The blue or red risers (v6/7) are fine. You really don't have to put much thought and analyze risers as it is much cheaper today and you can always buy extra. It will work as long as you connect it to a PCIE port.

Just stay away from SATA-MOLEX adapters. Those are the ones that burn up or cause explosions. Best is to directly connect PSU to riser via 6-pin or SATA connector.

You shoud also take into account the length of USB3.0 cable (between 1xPCIe MoBO connector and the riser). Usually 60cm or 30cm cables are used. But if you need to install GPUs at more than 100cm from MoBo  you need carefully chose USB3.0 extender. It's due to the signal attenuate in the cable and even OS will detect the GPU the mining process will be with errors or not work at all.
