Hey there. So I am a newbie and have been getting into cryptocurrency for about 2 weeks or so. I signed up for quite a few airdrops, but have yet to get any tokens from anywhere. So I checked myetherwallet earlier and saw this:
So out of curiosity I started googling MSC coin.. I saw that it is (or was...) worth about $3.00 usd, but when actually going to any exchanges, including Poloniex, Bittrex and YoBit, I can't find anything. Then I did a little more research and see that the project was from around 2014 or so.
Is this the Mastercoin?
Is this the Masoncoin?
How do I know?
I had to upload a custom token for the first time, which I also had to google to figure it out...and by attaching the token's contract address to the token's symbol, myetherwallet was able to pull it from etherscan.io and add the 200 MSC to myetherwallet balance.
- Is there any advice on this for new people like myself? Do tokens usually have to be added via the custom token option for myetherwallet (primarily from airdrops?)...
- DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS TOKEN?Thanks,
Anthony
This is where you got them from:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2313259.0And, yes, many times you have to add the token to the MEW wallet manually before it will show. Sometimes, if it is a project which is published on the blockchain, it will appear automatically in the drop down list, but it's an extra effort to publish the tokens so many, especially airdrops, don't go thru the extra expense of publishing.
Anyway, you guys are funny finding random tokens in your wallets. Had me checking my addresses to see if I had anything good in there too!
