Hello,
I am new  here. I would like to buy some bitcoins, but I don't really like that most of  reliable exchanges requires sending scan of IDs cards.

I do not trust them   Grin

Where do you buy bitcoins without sending IDs? Is there any way except localbitcoins?

For my wallet I decided for Electrum - is it a good choice?

Thanks for you replies

Electrum is a good choice for temporary wallet, atleast it has more security than any online wallet right now.
But, I think it's impossible nowaday to buy bitcoin without uploading your ID since majority of exchanges that accept either credit card or bank transfer always demand your ID, they want to securely protect themselves from any fraud transaction.
Unless you can buy some altcoins outhere from elsewhere and exchange it to bitcoin, or buy from person face to face.

It would depend on your country's exchanges. I'm not sure if there are any that don't require any type of identidication. Localbitcoins might be the only way.

Yes! Electrum is secure and lightweight. I've had no issues with it thus far.

Well you can look for local exchangers in your country, I have mostly done my trades through a local exchanger, he has never asked me for an ID verification. He does keep a fees for that, I am sure you can find many local exchangers by a quick google search. Which Country are you currently in? I can help you find one. Also for Electrum, yes it is a good choice, it will do everything you need. Just make sure you have got it from the official website and not a copy version of it which is infected. Good luck!

Yeah and ATM or LocalBitcoins would be 2 ways. However I wouldn't recommend those scammer owners of LocalBitcoins. Read my past posts.

Couldn't find anything really in your post history about the owners of LocalBitcoins, what happend?

Also, on localbitcoins you are in no way dealing with the owners of the site, rather peer2peer.
You don't even need to use their escrow system if both parties agree, thus it could still be a risky, but viable option if you don't want to use your ID.

Well, if you might have forgotten, this is a two way street. You don't trust them and neither do they trust you. You want something from them (bitcoins) and they want to sell those but they also want to be sure you are not a scammer.

Use a bitcoin ATM or do a person to person local trade. ID dilemma solved.

If you still insist on buying online and without ID, then I have to suspect a motive here. An ulterior one. Either you want to pay with questionable funds (such as PayPal or credit card) or have something more sinister up your sleeves.

If your intentions are genuine and legit and you really have concerns about your ID being misused, then the best way would be to use a bitcoin ATM or meet up locally with someone who can sell you bitcoins for non-counterfeit cash.

Use localbitcoins. They are one of the most convenient ways to buy bitcoins. You're actually not dealing with localbitcoins but they provide the interface between the buyer and the seller of the coin to ensure that nobody gets scammed.

I can't really say anything else because i do not know where you live.

However, paxful works too and most offers do not need ID.
