English Narrated Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas: Mu'awiya bin Abi Sufyan ordered Sa’d, and said: "What prevents you from abusing Abu Turab (i.e., Ali)?" Sa’d replied: "I will not abuse him, for I remember three things which I heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) concerning him. Because of these, I will never abuse him. If even one of these three things were mine, it would be dearer to me than red camels. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say to him when he left him behind in one of his campaigns. Ali said to him: ‘O Messenger of Allah, you leave me behind with the women and children.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) replied: 'Are you not pleased to be with respect to me as Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophet after me?' I also heard him say on the Day of Khaybar: ‘I will give the flag to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and Allah and His Messenger love him.’" He (Sa’d) said: "We all stretched out our necks (to see). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Call Ali for me.’ He was brought and he had sore eyes. The Prophet (ﷺ) applied his saliva to his eyes and gave him the flag, and Allah granted him victory." (He also said): "When the following verse was revealed: 'Let us summon our children and your children, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves.' Arabic عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، قَالَ أَمَرَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ سَعْدًا، فَقَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تَسُبَّ أَبَا تُرَابٍ، فَقَالَ أَمَّا مَا ذَكَرْتُ ثَلاَثًا قَالَهُنَّ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَلَنْ أَسُبَّهُ، لأَنْ تَكُونَ لِي وَاحِدَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ أَحَبُّ إِلَىَّ مِنْ حُمْرِ النَّعَمِ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ لَهُ وَخَلَّفَهُ فِي بَعْضِ مَغَازِيهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، خَلَّفْتَنِي مَعَ النِّسَاءِ وَالصِّبْيَانِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ لاَ نُبُوَّةَ بَعْدِي " . وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ " لأُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّايَةَ رَجُلاً يُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، وَيُحِبُّهُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ " . قَالَ فَتَطَاوَلْنَا لَهَا . فَقَالَ " ادْعُوا لِي عَلِيًّا " . فَأُتِيَ بِهِ أَرْمَدَ، فَبَصَقَ فِي عَيْنِهِ، وَدَفَعَ الرَّايَةَ إِلَيْهِ، فَفَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ . وَلَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ ( فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَنِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَكُمْ وَأَنْفُسَنَا وَأَنْفُسَكُمْ ) دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلِيًّا وَفَاطِمَةَ وَحَسَنًا وَحُسَيْنًا فَقَالَ " اللَّهُمَّ هَؤُلاَءِ أَهْلِي " .

Urdu حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے روایت کی ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "میری اور انبیاء کی مثال اس طرح ہے جیسے ایک شخص نے گھر بنایا اور اسے مکمل اور خوبصورت کیا، مگر ایک کونے میں ایک اینٹ کی کمی رہ گئی، لوگ اس گھر کا چکر لگا کر کہتے ہیں کہ یہ اینٹ کیوں نہیں رکھی گئی، تو میں وہ اینٹ ہوں"۔
English Narrated Aisha: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The example of myself and the previous Prophets is like that of a man who built a house and made it complete and beautiful, except for a place where there was a missing brick in the corner. The people went around it and admired it, but said, ‘If only this brick were placed.’ So I am that missing brick."
Arabic عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَثَلِي وَمَثَلُ النَّبِيِّينَ قَبْلِي كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ بَنَى بَيْتًا فَأَكْمَلَهُ وَأَجْمَلَهُ إِلَّا مَوْضِعَ لَبِنَةٍ فِي زَاوِيَةٍ مِنْهُ، فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَطُوفُونَ بِهِ وَيَقُولُونَ: لَوْ أَكْمَلَتْ هَذِهِ اللَّبِنَةُ، فَأَنَا تِلْكَ اللَّبِنَةُ".
