Bitcoin has 50% chance to reach $15K by the end quarter of 2018, if bitcoin still on track without any bad news such as a big country ban bitcoin, mining activities or an exchange get hacked. Consider bitcoin usability, development, acceptance in many countries will encourage people to adopt bitcoin whether as object of investment or digital currency for daily basis transactions. If there are more countries treat bitcoin as a legal currency such in Japan, we may see bitcoin reach $15,000 before the end of 2018.

The price of bitcoin by 2018 is still unpredictable but I don't think its price will jump from 5800 USD to 15k. If we base on the history chart of bitcoin, we can easily observe that the price of bitcoin in contrast to its price in 2010 dramatically increased in the years 2014 and 2017. It took 4 years for it to rise. Given that there are only two months left, the probability of its price is to increase up to 15k USD is very low and extremely impossible.

It is so hard to predict the price but it is worth noting that bitcoin did 5-6x its value so far this year so a 2.5x in value isn't impossible in the next year. Of course this year could be a freak year and was definitely buffed by things such as the increase in difficulty.

I wish it will come to that value for real but i think that speculation will be too much for next year but maybe $10,000 will be possible. As you can see the more bitcoin become expensive it will be the more for some investors difficult to purchase as some cannot afford that value anymore to start for investment. They might shift to altcoin in which much cheaper to start.

It is really hard to tell. I am only expecting a market value of 7500-8000$ next year, not to under estimate the development of Bitcoin in all aspects. I am not saying that it won't be able, but probably if it will be able to reach that amount, maybe it will happen on the last quarter of 2018 if nothing will happen that is not in favor with Bitcoin.

That's really a very high price to reach,but not impossible as bitcoin price has reached $5,770 today from just $650 within a year.
Even though the china threat is no more,still another hard fork is possibly awaiting in the very next month november when segwit 2x would be activated.
Its unlike BCC hard fork which had very low miner support,segwit 2x has almost 85% of miners support.
So,only if bitcoin survives after that hard fork,bitcoin price could be expected to go high.

How did you come up with the 50% chance? Surely there are certain given factors like increasing demand and interest. But how can you confidently say there's 50% chance for that to happen? $15.000 is doable but I'm not sure if it's probable and, more importandly, healthy and sustainable. I would be very happy to see $10.000 within the next year.

There is a possibility of more forks coming our way too. In that case, there would be a lot more than just segwit2x to worry about. Each of those forks will create a bubble that bursts right after the new coin is introduced and it is very unhealthy for Bitcoin itself. I don't think we will hit 15k next year, but at the same time, I would have never predicted bitcoin to reach 6000 by the end of this year either. With that said, people can guess but we will never know what is true until the time comes.

the only fork that matters is segwit2x. everything else is a sideshow. the more forks there are the less fooled people are gonna be. there's only so many times the same trick can be pulled before everyone goes back to ignoring this stuff.

In my opinion, the fork is not just some trick to fool people, isn't it? The problem with fork this time is not just a tech problem. It's that people are also taking sides. That's how I understand. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
And about the price. I don't think it will go above 7500 this year. Even if it hits, it won't stay there long. Maybe I'm wrong.

it's really hard to tell knowing that everyting is possible to happen. If there'll be no problems that will happen just like what happened between China, exchanges and ICO, it will somewhat be possible ofcourse. But stoll, backdrops should always be expected since bitcoin is Volatile so there will always be time that its value will fall. So yes, I still believe that it is possible.

Well $15k per bitcoin is quite large numbers but who knows, bitcoin is unpredictable it is tough for us to foresight on what will happen on bitcoin soon. However, in my speculation bitcoin could not make it maybe $10k is possible but $15k is too much. Anyway it's just my speculation it might never happen.

That is something I am wondering as well:
What exactly will be bitcoin in 2018? The coin we have today, or the 2x fork?
And because I don't know what coin will be bitcoin in 2018, I really have a hard time estimating the price bitcoin will have next year.
Maybe we are even talking about the combined value of those two.

It would make me happy if 2018 gives us Bitcoin Core. The whole Segwit2X thing has been blown way out of proportion, and it looks like some of the people behind it are merely doing it for money and influence.

Bitcoin value reaching  $15,000 by 2018 is a possibility and it might not just happen at end, but one cannot completely say it not possible for no one know what tomorrow hold. Although we are all making an assumption may and may not come to fulfilment in time to come.

I think it is possible the price become 15k dlllars in the year of 2018 but I think if i give percentage its only 30 percent because once bitcoin reach 10k dollars its veey hard to increase fast the price because many people sell their bitcoin so it depends on the demand on the market if they have many buyers for sure the price will increase. let's wait and see after the segwit2x after effects.a possible chain split could be a great devastation  but still depends on the bitcoin die  hard supporters. if nothing goes wrong then bitcoin price will hit tha target 15k ATH at the end of last quarter of 2018. It's possible, we never thought that the price of bitcoin will be reaching $6k for this year. Everyone was only considering that $1,000 is the floor price and this will be stable until the end of the year. And there are some predictions that this year will be another great year for bitcoin that will be having a new ATH of $1,500. Comparing it to those speculations, $15,000 on 2018 is very possible and it has a big chance to happen after these forks will be done.
