Please tell me this is not allowed.   Please tell me you will handle this.

User BTCTalkAccounts is buying selling and pawning accounts on this forum.

That way the scammers can buy their way into a brand new Full Member account, while the newbies sit in prison.

That's bullshit.

This is amazing to me.  Is there some backstory or thread I can read to see how this insanity was agreed upon?

Does. Not. Compute.

It's allowed, several mods have already pointed this out.

It's a big forum, full of spam, scammers, and now people selling accounts.

HOW WOULD I KNOW WITH ALL THIS BULLSHIT IN THE FORUMS?

I think this is the point.  I can't find anything useful because people are so busy selling accounts, scamming, spamcoining, and generally not being of consequence at all.

I agree. Its retarded.  But they can't enforce a rule to not do it.  Better to see your enemy than not

I assumed it was going on in the dark, and not on the actual forum.  I assumed wrong.

It's totally allowed. If I'm going to be honest one of the reasons I decided to do this was not to just make money, but to highlight the fact that you cannot trust people based on their posts, status or trustrating. Everybody has their price, and now people are starting to realize this.

Secondly, I take pride in the fact that so far none the accounts I have sold to business partners have been used for scamming, most are used mainly for promotion (think MPOE-PR, attacking competition and stuff). I also sell accounts to anyone, for promotion, role-playing, or to use the existing rep to build a business, but I have not had much interest in this yet.

I see all this.  I'm just appalled and the contradictory stuff going on in the forum.

I assume all accounts are stolen by default anyway, but damn, just throwing in my face like this.

But yes, if it's going to happen, at least make sure EVERYONE knows about it.

BTW, might want to market in newb prison.  Wink

Kinda like if you wanna sell your social and drivers license in all life to someone who looks like you.

All bad when the person you sold to uses that info to create a massive scam, and the police come to your door.

How would you even possibly close it?

Forum accounts for BTCTalk are being openly bought and sold on diverse other platforms and forums, not just through BTCTalkAccounts. Also lots of people are being contacted by PM to ask if they'd be willing to sell their account.

I didn't know about this. Thanks for the heads-up, looks like I've got even more competition inbound.

This was more common during the whole Ripple giveaway. I think it ebbed down now.

Opencoin requires accounts to be started in Feb 13, I guess only those accounts are of value.   Wonder when will be the next giveaway, I think there will be another mad rush of buyers for bitcointalk accounts.
