is there a bitcoin wallet that is trusted that you can refer me to?
There are a number of trusted BTC wallets available to download. Choose any one from here:  https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

I was also trying to find a bitcoincash wallet but same thing, there is big problems with finding a wallet that works.

and the washing of hands of people, when they refer me to a list of bitcoin wallets,
intent is that i can then chose which poison to try and download myself,
and their conscience is then clean...
If this is how you think about people on a forum who are trying to help you, you should ask a lawyer, not us.

If you're that paranoid, use Bitcoin Core. With Bitcoin Core you don't have to trust anyone else ever again.

lol, yeah. i think op is just paranoid and he must consult a lawyer rather than asking here for some suggestions on what wallet is the most trusted to use but ill try to answer the op's question, @op i think there is no really a trusted bitcoin wallet because all of them are still holding your bitcoins not unless you create your own wallet so in that way , you are sure that your the ony one  who can access it and lastly just remember to to dowload a wallet that you hold or control your private keys because this is the only why that you can ensure extra security to your funds.

Problems cannot find a bitcoin wallet that works

I really cannot fathom how bitcoin is being valued so high now,
when i haven't been able to find a bitcoin wallet that works for me for a long time.

What do you mean by works? If you run to run a full node then Bitcoin core is fine, and works on several different operating systems. If you don't want to sync fully or run a full node then Electrum is a light weight wallet which also runs on a variety of different systems. These should all automatically download and create a wallet for you which will then be able to use.

If you are struggling with setup then consult the wallets wiki page.

You don't have to download a wallet if you are not interested in the inherit values of bitcoin like immutability and trustlessness. For ease of use, online e wallets would serve you sufficiently and most things about security are taken care for you by someone you will have to trust.

ask a lawyer what? what are you getting at?

excuse me, but are you insulting me? Give me a break, the reason why people refer me to a list of wallets,
is because they do not trust any one of the wallets themselves, or do not feel confident in any one wallet.
you need to confess that bitcoin does have a wallet problem or problems,
and one of those problems is that the wallet is hard to get to work, and involves trying to find your way through a minefield
of potential attacks or assaults or insults(as we see you seem to be trying to insult me),
and I still do not have a bitcoin wallet that works.
But I will look into Bitcoin Core, thank you for that suggestion
Smiley

Sorry, but if you want to be taken seriously in future endeavors you might hav on this forum, i suggest to re-read what you write before you post it.

Bitcoin absolutely has no problems with a lack of wallets. There's numerous open-source wallets out there which are 100% clean and safe to use, ( as long as you pc is not infected.).

What is so difficult with using Electrum exactly?

It installs in a matter of minutes, and connects in seconds. You're the only one with the keys, however you do rely on their nodes, but that's the case with every wallet, unless you decide to setup your own.

the reason why people refer me to a list of wallets is because they do not trust any one of the wallets themselves
No, it's because different wallets are better for different purposes.  If you need a very secure and entirely trustless wallet, you can download Bitcoin Core on an airgapped PC.

If you want convenience and everyday spending, you could try a software wallet (Electrum is the most trusted of those wallets).  You could also try an online wallet if they have decent systems like multisig wallets (BitGo and Green Address for example).

If you want cold storage, Electrum has a cold storage feature, or you could try a paper wallet.  Hardware wallets are a good hybrid which are convenient for ordinary usage, but are also sort of a form of cold storage and offer additional features such as hidden wallets and separate accounts to try and preserve your privacy.  Personally I use a TREZOR, and I have tried using Electrum as the interface for it.

The reason that it's a problem for you is because BTC has an open source and free ethic in which everyone doesn't have to use the same wallet.  As long as there are intelligent people reviewing the open source code and there doesn't appear to be anything illegitimate, the wallet is safe and they can have a variety of different features.
and one of those problems is that the wallet is hard to get to work, and involves trying to find your way through a minefield
For me it took about zero minutes, or at most one, to start with an online wallet.  I later took up a hardware wallet.

Problems cannot find a bitcoin wallet that works
Before we start with wallet recommendations... Can you please define "works"? Huh

What wallets have you actually tried, and what problems were you having?

...i haven't been able to find a bitcoin wallet that works for me for a long time.
Again... What exactly does this mean? You had a wallet that was working but then started crashing? Or you had a wallet that was "working" but then had some missing features that were critical to your requirements?

It's like saying, "can anyone recommend a vehicle that works?"... Most people are going to recommend cars or trucks... when what you "need/want" is a vehicle that can easily transition from land to water ie. a hovercraft...

Please be more specific with what it is that you actually want from a wallet... Or the issues/errors you are experiencing that make the wallets you currently have unusable.
