Apologies if there is a better place for this post, but I can see at least one other recent post on a similar topic in this board so hopefully it's the right place.

I sent three transactions from my Electrum wallet yesterday. I used Electrum's dynamic fee slider to pick the fee. I pushed the slider one above the middle to increase the fee slightly in the hope it would speed things along (although I noted that however far up the slider I pushed it it always estimated confirmation within 25 blocks).

The first transaction was over 22 hours ago and it still hasn't had a single confirmation.

Looking into it a bit further, for example using BlockCypher, I see the fee is considered low. But still... 22+ hours?

Here are the three transactions on BlockCypher.

https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/879d88ce9cf44c0b715f99d83a5b8fe12aff150f0af3349e7b77a01cca93367f/
https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/75376b902950d958df8ce2881831a7c196542b208a1c1e1008407bce503c4bf6/

Most worryingly, Electrum is showing the third transaction as "Unconfirmed Parent". I also note that on the BlockCypher page for that transaction it only has a confidence of 61.55% and says "Double-Spend Detected: No Memory Pools With Tx: 974"

The three transactions should empty my Electrum wallet. When I did the third transaction, I used the "Max" button in Electrum (after setting the fee) to send all that was left in the wallet. Has Electrum used some of the funds used in one of the other transactions in this third transaction? Is that why BlockCypher thinks it has noticed a double spend?

I'm rather worried that these funds are all currently stuck in limbo!

Thanks in advance for any info you're able to provide.

Yeah, I also would've expected those transactions to be confirmed by now, but it looks like the network is severely congested right now:

https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

You can see there that fees under 100 sats/byte could take up to 1800 minutes to confirm and your transactions are at 60 sats/byte. While there is nothing wrong with your transactions, and eventually they will confirm, you can try using this tool to speed it up:

https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

If you succeed in accelerating your transaction there, it will confirm with the next block ViaBTC mines.

Miners have been all over BCH so BTC has been very sluggish for a bit. Soon enough they'll pop back and the congestion will ease up.

But there's no way any wallet can stay on top of the Bitcoin fee situation. What works fine one day will be hopeless the next.

Don't worry buddy, just wait for few more hours and then still you didn't receive your payment, just use any accelerating service. There are so many such services available. Just visit the service section of this forum and you will find out that. Or you can use viabtc accelerating service. So don't worry and try to contact any of these services.

Sorry to say but you can't do anything about this but wait. Miners just keep switching between bitcoin and bitcoin cash. I don't have a clue about your third transaction though, never encountered one of those. Don't worry, I'm sure your transaction will be finished.

there will be 2 possibilites that will happen to you,
it will be in your other wallet or it will be canceled,so nothing to worry about it mate just take it easy.
the real reason why your confirmation took a bit more time due to your fees,
and seriously electrum's recommended fee only that much ?
because whenever i tried to send my own to another one, they recommend it around 200 bytes++,
your confirmation time will be around 60-1800 minutes/conf,well at least it will be in your wallet next week/month or it will be canceled(i do not think it will be).

your first transaction (879d88...) has a low fee, that is why it is taking too long to confirm. there is a big backlog in the mempool, probably another spam attack, which means you have to pay a higher fee.
your second transaction (75376b9...) is the same with 60 satoshi/bte. you probably chose the lowest fee of Electrum

your last transaction is different though (adfdfae...) that one is spending 4 unconfirmed transactions and until all those 4 transactions are confirmed this tx won't be.

next time try to pull the slider more to the right so that you can get a better priority for your transactions.

I had the same problem with electrum before, it seems like sometimes thsir recommended fee is too low. If you need fast transactions then it is better to check the amount of unconfirmed transactions before sending your bitcoins.
If your fee is too low to use viabtc accelerator by yourself then you can  search for some help in service board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0  there is always someone who can help you.

Are you sure you're using the latest version of Electrum? Past versions had problems with the fee algorithm, suggesting very low fees.
The mempool is currently sitting at 63K transactions so I don't think those transactions are going through for at least another 12 hours.
The fee is extremely low at this stage.

Any idea how I could be spending unconfirmed transactions? The funds have been sat in the wallet confirmed for months?

I did pull the slider to the right a little bit, but to be fair, I don't think I'm on the latest version of Electrum. My bad. I'm moving the funds out of Electrum because I find it a PIA. Am giving Exodus a shot. Anybody here use Exodus?

Thanks for all the advice so far. Much appreciated!

Just wait for a few hours, I sent all my btc from electrum to coinbase, it took me almost a day before the confirmation. I think they are working on to something that's why there's a little delay on bitcoin transactions. Just hang in there.
