Are there any pay roll services for bitcoin and ETH?  As a Blockchain developer or professional would you be happy to get paid in a cryptocurrency?  Sure with smart contracts - an ethereum based app is ideal for the gig economy?

People already get paid in bitcoin man ! I don't know why it should come as a point of discussion since it's obvious people want to get paid in bitcoins/other cryptos.Isn't that's the reason why all of us are here ? Check out the services section, you would find lot of open jobs are paying in bitcoins.
An APP == Fuck things up.They would have service charges + moderation + terms and conditions .Cancer to the decentralised economy.

Are there any pay roll services for bitcoin and ETH?

I find this article interesting https://risepeople.com/blog/why-some-companies-pay-employees-in-bitcoin/ and yes there are so many employees now that are paid with bitcoin, eth and other crpyto so you should know that now mate.

As a Blockchain developer or professional would you be happy to get paid in a cryptocurrency?

Yes, of course as I'm embracing bitcoin now and it's one of the privilege that I'm going to have as a professional or just a simple office worker. I don't have to buy bitcoin so it helps me to save a lot of time.

Sure with smart contracts - an ethereum based app is ideal for the gig economy?

I'm not a fan of ETH / smart contracts.

Even though as a non-blockchain developer I would love to get paid in bitcoin. Only thing we can currently do is to just use the fiat they pay us to buy bitcoin/eth. I really don't like using those 3rd party services that converts your fiat salary to btc, I simply just don't trust them. Maybe try negotiating with your boss about this? I wouldn't recommend doing that though, as it would be extra work for your employer. For now just use your fiat to buy btc.

Thanks - will check out the services.  Definitely agree that is all why we are here Smiley  Just wondering if there are any more mainstream services that let companies pay out in Crypto currencies.  If want it to go mainstream then need to encourage ease of adoption and I would imagine for companies paying out - having to do individual transactions to each team member etc would be quite timeconsuming.

An APP == Fuck things up.They would have service charges + moderation + terms and conditions .Cancer to the decentralised economy.

Interesting and definitely a perspective to consider.  Ideally looking at building something by the crypto community for the crypto community with a decentralised mission at its core.

There's going to be more people willing to get paid in Bitcoin than any other alt coin. Bitcoin currently has the biggest market and the biggest user base in the crypptocurrency world.

Of course there will be people who are willing to get paid in altcoins but due to their nature those are far less than what you have with Bitcoin. At the end of the day people are willing to get paid in what they are invested in. So if they aren't invested in either Bitcoin or another alt coin then they would prefer to be paid in traditional currencies.

I personally would love to be paid in Bitcoin if that was possible within my field, which currently it isn't.

I'm not sure if cryptocurrency payroll service is available now because Bitcoin isn't even legalized yet anywhere. Wouldn't such payroll for conventional, full-time job would have to comply with the local law? That's why I think such service isn't available yet.

I personally would be happy to receive my salary in Bitcoin. I already get paid in Bitcoin for signature campaign, which you could consider it as a part-time job, for years. I feel no disadvantage at all, rather it is an advantage because I don't need to buy more Bitcoin for savings. I'm sure it would be the same for a full-time job.

Agree. There are several ICOs who's trying to implement ethereum apps on micro job/freelancing sites. One example that I know is Blocklancer.

There are perhaps some who would like to be paid in Eth ot Bitcoin but unless you can convert into fiat then you cannot pay your bills as supermarkets, banks and government departments do not accept such methods. There is a long way to go before all workers could be paid in any crypto.

I'm not a blockchain developer not a sort of professional, I live normally and there are some businesses that I've got while working in a business that is requiring me to work 8 hours a day.

And the same thing with those people that want to get paid bitcoin I would volunteer to say to my employer that they can pay me through bitcoin, I want it to happen but even I'll demand they have no idea what bitcoin is.

People on xbtfreelancer.com are employed and getting paid with bitcoin.

Since I am a programmer I would prefer to earn Ether. Or get paid in ether and create my web application using solidity filecoin and IPFS. And earn more.

So for you, would the biggest disincentive be to use a service like this be the payroll charges that the provider or company might charge?

There are loads of bitcoin payroll services.

Bitpay:

https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-payroll-api

Also Bitwage for employers in teh US, UK and EU:

https://www.bitwage.com/

Bitwage is more for freelancers, where you invoice your company, and bitwage converts it.

What makes you think that we care about the brick and mortar establishments which you just mentioned. We have ways to buy using our crypto. Not all people thinks in terms of point of sales. That's the era of the dinosaurs. We can demand the crypto that we want  from employers because there is a huge shortage of IT talents in the US and the world in general. You don't want to pay me in crypto. Go get yourself a decent programmer. And they will never find any. Because all the talented  programmers know that they can become the boss through ICO and crowdfunding. No need for Venture Capitalist. Programmers can become CEO's overnight.

If you truly are a DAPPS programmer. You can become the Boss. No need to allow yourself to be exploited by stingy freelance employers.

I prefer to get paid in ETH. The customer will save transaction fees and money will be released in a shorter period of time. Also, since I'm heavily investing on tokens on etherdelta, it will be nice since I would be able to get extra ETH income and not converting BTC to ETH and then deposit on etherdelta.
