I've been having problems with my rig for a whole week. I can't get it to run as good as it did when I first got it.

The problem started when I got the following:
1- "WATCHDOG: GPU0 failed to get OpenCL call"
2- Screen flickers..
3- Win10 notification about "WattMan settings have been reset due to system failure".
------
Here's my rig specs:
- Running Windows 10
- 3 GPUs of Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ 8gb (Hynix Memory)
- AMD BETA Blockchain Drivers
- Flashed ROM: https://www.youtube.c0m/watch?v=uiPCwJV_ryM
------

I have tried the following:
- Flashing Original FACTORY ROM, same issue happens, same card stops hashing..
- Reinstalling the blockchain drivers, same issue, same card..
- Running with NO OVERCLOCK, NO UNDERVOLTING, ETC.. same issue, same card..
- Changing the riser, same issue, same card..

When putting back stock rom and regular driver and running videos/games.. The same card works fine!
But when using Claymore 10 to mine, the card stops working.. Sometimes within an hour or two, sometimes in minutes.

Should I migrate to Ubuntu Linux??

What else can I do before I switch?

Do you get any memory errors or Windows hardware errors?

Nope.. I've encountered that problem long ago and increased virtual memory to 20gb (only 16gb is required).

If anyone who is running RX580 Nitro 8gb can give me their specs it would really help.
ROM, Drivers, Claymore version, OverClock info.. etc..

I have my rig on standby now as I'm tired of restarting claymore 10 times a day. Sad

I went to check random things to try to find a clue as to what is causing the issue with that one card.

I opened ATIwinFlash and noticed that the card that's having the issue has a different "Flash Type" than the other two which are working fine.

The Flash Type on the card giving me the headache is: GD25Q41B

The other two cards have the same flash type: M25P20/c

The Flash Type remains the same regardless of which BIOS rom I use.

What is the difference between M25P20/c and GD25Q41B ??

Is it possible I'm using an incompatible rom?!

I'm using the one from this video: https://www.youtube.c0m/watch?v=uiPCwJV_ryM

By your description you have a problem with upgraded BIOS. You need to change the BIOS on the other. I had this problem when I installed the finished BIOS. GPU memory from Hynix had such problems. After my friend he edited me of BIOS the problem disappeared. I would share with you, but I have a 4GB GPU.

I assume you properly modded bios with proper straps.

Try these: set gen1 and enable 4g encoding at bios, install Windows 10 uefi and update it, use latest amd drivers with [Suspicious link removed]pute option, try adding to claymore command line -gser 2 -cclock 1200,1200,1200 -cvddc 1000,1000,1000 -mclock 2150,2150,2150

Lower memclock if it hangs. Try lowering core clock/voltage for gpu if its stable.

I assume you properly modded bios with proper straps.

The only thing I did was use ATIwinFlash, and replaced the original bios
with the bios I downloaded from the description in this video here: https://www.youtube.c0m/watch?v=uiPCwJV_ryM

Again, the two cards with Flash Type M25P20/c are working fine.
Only the card with GD25Q41B is giving me issues.

I guess I'm missing something here.....

yes you are missing something ... probably flashed a wrong bios to your card ..

I hope you have a original bios saved for each card .

Flash back the original bios for that card! make sure its the original ones what comes w your cards! i hope you saved all , bc all of the cards can have a different bios version number !

All your cards  can have different bios version!
Rom files are not interchangeable . You can flash them to another cards , but then your hashrate will drop to lower 20's or under or just going up and down , you might can not get the cards mem push over 2050-2075 stable .
You can brick your cards easy ...

To me sounds like you have a incorrect bios mod ,or flashed a modded bios with different bios version number ,  or you tried different tune software and you messed up your windows registry already ...

- make sure you have the original bios file saved with AtiFlash for each cards !
- restore all tune settings to default , before doing anything
- Mod your own original saved bios file ,if you know how ! and flash to your card !
- Uninstall all drivers with DDU
- Download and Install AMD Block Chain Driver from official AMD site
- Run AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher
- Reboot Your Rig
- Dont overclock , underclock anything , start your mining software, your card should hashing around 26-28MH/s
- If you can not get that hashing speed , then you might flashed the bios with different version number than the original...
- If you can get around that hashing speed , then :
- Download , install MSI Afterburner 4.4.0 Beta 19
Overclock your mem's / underclock your GPU's , with proper undervolting , and enjoy mining with full speed Wink

If you downloaded the bios from the internet , make sure the original and the modded bios have a same version number !

That explains everything..  Shocked
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation!

I only have 1 original bios file saved from one of the cards that had the M25P20/c flash type.
I do not have the original bios file from the card with the GD25Q41B flash type.

It seems that the other two cards had the same original bios, which is why they work fine with the same original bios file but the third card doesn't.

Now since I don't have the original bios for the bad card, how can I find an original OR modded bios for it?!

I there a repository online where people post such files?

What kind of memory does the one that doesn't work we'll have? You can check with gpuz.

Also if you go to:
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?manufacturer=Sapphire&model=RX+580
The is plenty of ROMs and you should find yours.

The cards all have Hynix memory.

* Thanks for the link, I will wait a bit for someone to maybe post an original bios for GD25Q41B.
I also sent a msg to the OP here asking them to post their original bios. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1842537.0)

If nobody happens to get me their original rom, I will experiment with what's on that link.
