Hi,

I just made this account to shamelessly promote my auction auction for a BFL Jalapeno
https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/38654-butterfly-labs-jalepeno-4-5gh-s-asic-in-hand-not-pre-order
Start time is in 30 minutes
Thanks, and you should definitely bid 5,000 BTC

Still not sure what I'm going to do about all this ASIC-ness.  I need to read up more on these BFL units to see whether I want to jump on something like this.

Well, ASICs WILL become a necessity for mining at some point, because when there are a bunch of them the difficulty will explode. But right now, when there are only a few of them, they can mine at incredible speeds because they have a much faster hashrate than conventional GPUs. That's why the starting price is BTC4.5 for my auction (hopefully it will go for more), which is almost twice the price of a pre-order for one today

Up to 9BTC currently...somebody hasn't done their ROI calculations. You're already looking at 54 days with 15M difficulty after the next increase to 18M the line just keeps getting further away!

This is a bitmit.net (like ebay with bitcoins) auction at https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/38654-butterfly-labs-jalepeno-4-5gh-s-asic-in-hand-not-pre-order
Now its at BTC9.005, or about $986. You can bid the equivalent amount of BTC on the auction if you want, but you will likely be outbid

Wow 31BTC 3.3K USD and climbing. If I had mine I would sure as hell sell it too. Apply the windfall to a Asicminer Blade and get 10GHs, or buy some mining shares.

Bids might have even gone higher if those searching for "Jalapeno" instead of "Japepeno" could find it. Suggest you covert BTC payment to USD ASAP if you need the cash. BTC mini-crash in progress...

OP relisted the Jalapeno, I'm the high bidder, feel free to knock me off my 5 BTC perch.
There is no way in hell I would sell mine for 500 bucks.

LOL, why you think anyone will make payment without escrow to a member that doesn't have any feedback (i'm talking about bitmit feedback).
