Hello all, I'm new to bitcointalk, but with the belief that this is only the beginning of the crypto currency revolution, I would appreciate the community's thoughts and recommendations on which of the existing alt coins with a current market cap below a billion (preferably lower priced for greater leverage) may be worthwhile considering for a long term hold/hoard. For me, it should have a: unique business value proposition with a large addressable market, an excellent management and advisory (legit) team, sufficient capital raised to execute on their ambitious road map, strong support from the development/programming perspective (including mining) and enthusiastic users/customers community. I'm not a trader, so my thought would be to have 10-20 solid names that are amazing projects/companies, and to position them on dips or on regular basis in order to build an awesome portfolio that could have a lower risk profile but have the ability to appreciate greatly over the next 5-10 years plus. Thank you in advance for your ideas, thoughts and recommendations for our collective consideration. No disclaimers necessary, as I will do my research and due diligence on the names mentioned in this thread, and will be happy to share them regularly with all participants too. Thanks and Happy hunting to us all!

A number of coin are for short holding and trading. Specially ICO launching new coins are gods for trading.
But long term aspect there are many coins. you may pick from top 10 or top 100 coins like BTC, ETH, WAVE, NEO, LTC.

OMG and Waves are below $1 billion.  Not exactly "seasoned", but both have good long term potential, IMO.

If you watn a seasoned project with long term potential then there is really 2 that i can recommend you. First one is of course, ethereum. It has lots of potential however it does needs to get scalability out of the way.

Second one is Monero. It is best in the anonymity race right now in my opinion.

Long term, the outlook is bullish for me.

Long-term holds for me are beyond 12 months, with a 3-5 year outlook, based on Bitcoin from 2011/12 until today. In which case Litecoin is my #1 choice which is why I hold a lot of it. Even buying them now would be a smart investment for stability, in my opinion.

But like others here I also recommend Waves because of a very stable price growth over time with extremely strong support (fiat, not BTC pair). And agree to hold Monero, it may not have jumped the ways of Dash or Zcash but that is always going to set the pace, even if it ultimately won't sprint.
