altcoins = butthurt noobs late to the party

Lol, you're right. All of us noobs are trying to recreate the wealth made by those that got into Bitcoin early. I'm mining Bitcoins, but using one GPU to test the waters of other coins. Mining Freicoins right now, but not sure that's the best option.

Isn't that the one where a good chunk of your coins are delivered straight to "the foundation"?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

i would invest to bitcoin , the present altcoins will not survive in the long run because they don't offer really useful new features.

for noobs i would say if they want to mine. begin with scrypt based alt coins to start getting a fast amount of coin flowing in, and to use this experience and time to learn the ropes. converting the coins to either bitcoin or litecoin as the 2 main long term coins which has proper infrastructure backing it up.

get to know bitcoin and then decide if you want to become a bitcoin miner (costing you an ASIC) or an entrepreneur (starting a business)

i myself never really mined. i went for the entrepreneur route, trading, investing and running a business. and i got a nice little nest egg of coins which exceeds earnings compared to miners.

find your niche, what excites you and makes you profit. and go for it. i say this because if you dont find mining exciting you wont put as much effort into it to make a success of it. same as being a business owner.

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

I have no idea. Probably should have done some research first.

I would invest 45% into LTC, 45% into PPC and the Rest into Copper Lark. LTC & PPC have both good concepts and if they will be accepted by more dealers or Mt.Gox then their value will rise a lot. Cooper Lark would be my high risk investment. Those russians habe a good concept with a sha3 coin and putting much effort into it (exchange, gpu miner coming soon). As much as I like BTC, I don't see it as an investment which could make me a lot of money. The chart is most of the time between $100 and $110, as there are too much people that buy at low prices and sell when it's a little bit higher. I don't think that will change in long term.

Bitcoin is my main currency and will remain my main currency. I have started to use Bitcoin for everyday things except grocery stuff. You can even pay bills with Bitcoin, that is amazing!
