How to sort threads here??

Hello friends,

I am having a bit of hard time sorting threads in this forum. I am sure I am not doing something right    For example when i go the altcoin announcement section, I want to sort by the new thread post date, so i want to see the newest thread first etc.

I see that we can sort by the top tabs which include  name, poster name,  new thread comment post ( not actual thread post).  Is there anyway to sort it correctly so that i can see the new topics first?

I don't think there is a way to sort threads like that (not that I know of at least)

You can sort them in the alphabetical order by clicking the corresponding columns which is useless in your scenario.I don't know what would be considered as a new topic ? 'Topic that was created in the last 24 hours or the topic that was created few hours ago ?' Either case,the comments on both to them decides where they stand in the list.

You can't sort new threads here in the forum but you could just look at the top left of the forum you can see there (show unread post since last visit) the threads that is not yet visited by you or you can just look at the number of replies to know if the thread is new or not.

Thanks for your reply. But I think this is very common feature of any forum. I am not sure how it got missed from this great techy forum? 

Whenever you go to a forum you would like to see the newest thread and you have the sorting option to sort by thread creation date/time.  Otherwise how can you see which thread is the newest. How can some one know which is the newest ICO in the announcement thread etc..

 I can see that topics from 2013 are still in the number 5/6 because some one replied to that thread today so it got bumped.  If there is no option to sort by thread creation date then how can some one see newest announcement etc?  thanks

Exactly this. An announcement forum seems deeply flawed if you cannot sort the posts by start date. Maybe a bug / feature request could be opened at Simple Machines?

The trick is the ;sort=first_post;desc bit.
