The only coins that survived and growing after such a long time besides Bitcoin are Namecoin and Devcoin, each having its unique purpose, rather than the rest of the alt coins whose main function is just to pump and dump.   There is nothing to prove, the simple fact that Devcoin threads generated tons of posts are the proof by itself.   There are those who setup threads in order to attack Devcoin, either with their main username or alt identity.   I guess if they have nothing better to do why not go and mow some lawn and get some pocket money instead of wasting time trolling around?

Devcoin has been around since a long time I guessed, I search the forum, earliest was Jan 2012, if it is a pump and dump, it would be gone a long time ago.  It has a purpose like Namecoin, that's why it is still running right now when tons of other alt coins have appeared and disappeared.  Of course, it is your brains, you have a right to your own opinions.  Just my 2 Devcoins.

Only 'scam' is the recent flood of pointless "buy devcoin now" threads. Devcoin is not meant to be traded and pumped, it's a currency for encouraging creativity and open projects. The day to day value is of almost no concern as the developers/foundation can just choose to increase or decrease the DVC reward for content, keeping the value where they want to since they hold 90% of the supply.
