You will not be able to mine effectively. I would suggest staying away from mining and try to focus on learning the basics of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain technologies.

Hello and welcome. None if you only have one GPU, especially if it's an old one such as the 970. I don't recommend mining until you have well over 100k invested into crypto. And even then, mining is only worth a though if you pay 3-5 cents per KWH. Otherwise don't bother, since you won't be able to compete with the industrial scale mining farms (they drive the price down to the break even point).

Not sure if that's a good GPU to mine with, but probably just try it out. I suggest using this calculator to calculate profitability: https://www.coinwarz.com/calculators ; Just select coins that you're interested in and enter your data, just to let you know which certain coins will most probably give you the best profit. Best of luck.

I dont recommend mining using your graphics card since it is old. I'd recommend that you just start investing on cryptocurrency first, then hodl and trade it rather than start mining with your graphics card, you would just waste time with it. You would need to upgrade your pc's hardware specs first if you really want to start mining but if the electricity in your country is expensive, I would suggest that you stay away from mining.

as a newbie also my best crypto is bitcoin and i am not satisfied on mining crypto cause its to hard for beginner. And also cant a ford buying some gpu if some of yours is crash by some hardware problem. I suggest to keep away from it as of now cause we don't have any knowledge on it how operate miners. Lol i think Instead mining lets just mine by doing any activities here in forum using our skills

But it's not worth it unless you have a lot of money and cheap electricity. Even with 6x or 60x cards you won't make a lot of money.

Mining is not what you should start with. I would also suggest learning more about crypto world and concentrate on trading

Of course you are able to mine but it will not be the amount that will satisfy you so either you will find a team with which you can do it or stay on exchanging or holding a coin.

It all depends on whether or not he has a friend who also takes care of it and can give him the most necessary knowledge to start with.

This is very weak for mining kripto, and now you do not get the amount that could raise 2 years ago, so your direction of trade. Learn, master and maybe you'll be lucky in this direction.

Hello i would suggest you must upgrade your graphics card first. If you have enough money i prefer gtx 1080ti or gtx 1070ti. The more gpu you have the more earnings you got.

i have no experience about make my own mining. but if i want to jump into mining, maybe 3 questions i need to answer: 1. current mining difficulties? 2. can i compete with other miners? 3. if my hardware broken/faulty. how about repairing cost? still can get profit?
anyway, you still can try. good luck.

If you want to mine for fun and also have the satisfaction of watching the number of coins appearing our of nowhere, try mining SiaCoins with that GTX970. But take note that SiaCoins worth extremely little now. Maybe if you keep it for a few years, it might worth something. If you want to mine something that is worth more, then try to mine Ethereum. But you will mine a long time (months) to get a tiny fraction of a token. But that tiny fraction is also worth something given the prices of ETH now is about US$308/ETH. Go ahead and try it to understand how it works. That is how we all learn.

Mining isn't a business for a newbie. Take your time and keep learning. With time, you'd know what best to do and how best to do it. Cheers.

As others have said.. I wouldn't mine with that card unless you've got more than one card even then the newer cards these days will mine faster than the previous gen cards. But as always you've multiple things to take into consideration. Cost for power.. If you;re buying new equipment - whats the ROI If you're using existing equipment... whats the lifetime when running it for mining? As it will reduce the lifespan of the components

With that you get an amount that depends on how many coins you have in your wallet. So the more coins you have, the larger your reward will be. Of course that also means that if you have few coins you won't be making a lot. If you speak multiple languages you could also look into translation bounties for earning some extra coins if that's your thing though. But the most profitable way of increasing your wealth is through investing, so I recommend reading up a lot. If you're strong at Mathematics this will be very easy for you, otherwise you'll have to study a bit harder, but in the end it'll be worth it. I would only go this way if it's interesting to you though, there's nothing worse than doing something you hate just because it makes money.

Yeah, If you have enough coins at your balance and reliable project you are able to make profit fith PoS 'mining'. PoS is a method of protection in the cryptocurrency which based on the need of evidence storage a certain amount of funds. The algorithm of cryptocurrency are more likely to choose to confirm the next block in the chain account with plenty of funds by using this method.
