I have around 2400$ and I have the idea to invest them by buying bitcoin. I plane for a long term investment (few months to year). Best time to buy BTC and best strategy (I heard about a hard fork will happen soon) ? Other ideas to invest this amount of money for the indicated period of time ?

I think that's a good thing, investing in bitcoin is very promising for this time, because the price is expected continue to rise , but it's all there is a risk and can not be predicted. well only god knows what will happen in bitcoin maybe all of us will free to predict but all are only prediction and no one really knows about bitcoin in the future.but if you believe in bitcoin all by yourself you can invest on it .but gou have to prepare your self on the different situation because everything in cryptocurrency is really in a win or loose status.if you dont win you loose if you dont loose you earn that was it.so then if you are planing to invest btc be ready . |

those people who have an ability of patience then i think they are best for long term business. in long term business special term is that there is very less chance of loss and maximum chance of profit. so if you can invest a big money now in bitcoin and wait for a long time then in future after long time the rate and development of bitcoin will be very and very high so you can earn more and more profit at that time.

Long term investment are really profitable. People who invested their money back in 2009 are now rich and most of them are millionaires. It is really good if we now invest our money to the bitcoins and sell it in the future. |

Let see, as it is now 6400$ then it won’t be as good time to buy but you can wait for a couple days before of after the fork there is a slight decrease as always does. Then in holding I can advice you, don’t look at the chart too much because it will trigger your emotions, temptations and panicking. Goodluck and welcome to investing in bitcoin.

Bitcoin prices are high now, I do not think you should buy it at this time. I thought it would be the highest at $ 6500 and would drop. However, there is no sign that it will decrease It is hard to speculate on Bitcoin, You can be patiently waiting for the price to drop and buy it or buy it now and keep Bitcoin for a few years. |

Since you have heard about the hard fork it's better to buy bitcoin now with that amount so that you can have free coin after the hard fork. You have chosen the best coin to invest with your money, don't think of any other alt coin to invest with for long term investment but if you insist and you do really want to buy some alt coin, it's quite good to buy alts today too as they are mostly negative in price. |

The time you invest into a market or an asset matter a lot as most times newbies buy into bitcoin at a wrong time. I think you should hold a little for the price to have a pull back so that you can buy cheap. Your investment of about $2,400 is a significant amount and holding bitcoin for a long time with it especially if you buy at the right time will make you thousands of dollars in years to come. I have been following the reactionsame of this market and most times the coin is highly dynamic and unpredictable and that is why you should buy at the right time. |

Long term investment are really profitable. People who invested their money back in 2009 are now rich and most of them are millionaires. It is really good if we now invest our money to the bitcoins and sell it in the future. I think so that long term investment is a very profitable investments today. And yes those who have already start investing in bitcoin way back 2009 are already millionaires today but I believe that it take also a risk part for them because they are not assured already that their investments will become profitable, but if they stand alone for what are they believe in bitcoin then probably they are millionaires today because of the high value bitcoin today has. |

You need to prepare before the upcoming fork will take place, to buy when there is a dip in the price, and keep calm, as you said its for a long term investment. But note: you need to buy with the lowest price you can, which is the first rule of trading. the fork was already finished and for me, it was not so much of a fuss. It turned to be only a dump and it did not even take so long to be in the market. Time to time the price is increasing but it is not always. After the peak price wait for a couple of hours then you buy btc if the price goes down. But if it is not going down, then just buy. Assuming that you really want long term then it is ok to buy now than later. |

this is a tricky one tbh, Bitcoin is on a little run at the moment and up over $6500 so buying at such a high is not preferable but if it goes much higher and corrects itself after the fork at a value still higher than that current price you will have missed out. i have said before if you are holding for long term, buy now if you are really holding out to get the best buy in value wait and hope there is a big correction after the fork. |

Well, at the current market value of bitcoin one need to apply wait and see approach in case there will be a serious correction of the value of bitcoin any moment from now. Although there are speculation that bitcoin value will reach $7000 before end of the year if not $10000. |
