I didn’t know if there was a list somewhere of the more popular BTC exchanges. I have been searching. I found Kraken. It appears to be laid out nicely. I’d like to look at a few that allow trading in smaller amounts for someone just starting out.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#marketsYou can also view all trading pairs on that link, especially when you're from a foreign country and you wanted to buy using a foreign currency and not through tethers(USDT). Just sort the list via Volume to know which exchanges are the most popular.

Try to see on what information you need regarding on exchangers here https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/info and you can find some interesting facts about on which is the top cryptocurrency exchange existing today. But for that listed on this site I will recommend you to do your trades on the bittrex since this platform is so easy to use and not so sketchy.

I am looking into Bittrex. Thank you. I am US based. I’d like to trade in smaller amounts since the price of bitcoin is already so high. I am assuming I can do this with bittrex.

There are so many exchange sites that gives you an ability to trade your small amount, But what about bitfinex as the biggest or popular bitcoin exchange site in this time. The volume is really huge comparing with another bitcoin exchange site. You can try to make a comparison between the popular exchange site. But i suggest you try bitfinex. you can try to go to the coinmarketcap and find a lot of the choice in there. Most of them allow you to trade small amount.

If you're actually only trading small amounts, I suggest using binance.com instead. If I remember correctly, Bittrex has a 0.25% trading fee whereas binance only has 0.1%. That 0.15% might make a significant difference in terms of your profit.

I would take the suggestion already given here and go to coinmarketcap and see what are the exchanges with more traded volume on the pair bitcoin/(alt you want to trade). I would read their TOS carefully though, before making any deposits, since most of them are getting regulated and might need a license to operate etc, and it's possible they will start asking for ID verification. It is also possible that they might have to close, so also see in what country they are registered in, and how that country sees bitcoin.

it depends which coins you want to trade. Some of the larger exchanges only list the more established and popular coins. If you are interested in ecr-20 tokens then etherdelta and idex.market are best.

If you want to buy bitcoin using united states dollars then try to use binance, bitfinex, or coinbase, they are one of the best sources in where you can buy those bitcoins for a cheap rate. and if you want to trade with that amount of bitcoin, just do your own research, there are good exchanges in where you can buy altcoins like polo and bittrex, and maybe cryptopia. good luck with that, and try to not to be scammed by one of those scammy exchanges that are out there.

In terms of btc exchanges it is not hard to look for. Most recommend is bittrex, it is also one of the best exchanges. Yes, coinmarketcap is also on top for cryptocurrencies to search for. Actually there are many exchanges like coinexchange, liqui.io, and cryptopia exchange you may choose, search and decide.

List of BTC exchange can be found at coinmarketcap but not all those exchange has full regulation, its very important to choose BTC exchange with full regulation to keep our fund safe because BTC exchange without full regulation can be fraud like BTC-E. To find some exchange that has regulation simply by check and go to the their website. And my opinion one of the good exchange is Bittrex and this exchange has full regulation.

GDAX is looking good right now I think. It’s US based which I like and it’s number 4 on the list at coinmarketcap.

The coinmarket listing every bitcoin trading platform you can find it there. Not only that, it lists many other parameters that help you in trading.
