I would appreciate input from senior members and those in the forum that have knowledge or an understanding, on the appropriate disposal or storage of junk coins. There are some coins that for one reason or another, have been abandoned or discontinued.

For these coins that are not in active circulation, is there an appropriate way to dispose of them or can they just sit in the wallet without security risks?

thanks in advance.

You'd probably close the wallet software down, but there's no harm in keeping the wallet.dat or a backup of the whole data folder.

You never know, those coins can get revived at some point and could be worth something greater than zero in the future.

Hi, I don't think there are any security risks in holding abandoned tokens in your wallet. If you are not happy with them laying in your wallet, you can always send tokens to 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 or 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000001, use minimum safe GWEI and GAS (for instance GWEI=0.5, GAS=80000).

I think if you have some coin's which are not of use now or have lost their value or are not working,  I will prefer or advice you to not dumb or to dispose them as these coin's.  Infact you should keep them in your wallet,  and forget about them.  As there are possibilities that in future these coin's will revive, and for now whom you are thinking of no use will prove to be  huge change.  And I don't think so that there is some violation of rules by keeping then in your wallet.

Junk coins has nothing to do with your life so you better leave them in your wallet than disposing it like transferring to other dummy wallets...
I prefer keep them,
