You removed some threads without letting us know which ones, But you don't remove likely scams or blatant scams? If they are sh*tposts then why do you clean it by yourself? You should show them to us before cleaning otherwise we'll keep sh*tposting. Is there a new mod here taking his job seriously too much?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

The moderators only remove spam, troll, off topic posts and threads. If the thread had posts, you will find it in Trashcan section.

of course they will clean it by themselves because they are moderators and it i think theres no need for them to tell you why they are removing it.

Base on how I understand the OP, he is trying to say that you should have had notified him that the thread is deleted together with its components so he will know and learn from it. I mean: include the topic title or the OP of the deleted thread.

As far as I know, he can't possibly have access to the trashcan unless he is a staff.

Why?

Do you seriously not know which threads are built for shitposting and which ones aren't? If you can't tell that a thread is likely to be trashed then you shouldn't be posting, period. Just start lurking. After all, if you don't know the difference between a spam thread and a genuine one then you certainly wouldn't know the difference between spam posts and genuine posts. Considering your post history, I'm willing to say that this is exactly how it is.
I avoid the Bitcoin Discussion and Speculation sections now (used to post there) because they are sections full of shit. There is nothing good that can be found there apart from maybe one or two good threads, but they all eventually get raided by the cesspool of spam that leaks out of the abscesses of Bitcointalk.

I don't agree with you.

Do you think this is a spam thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2111476.0

A reply of mine was deleted and I still don't know why, as you can see here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.540

I agree with the OP up to a point. We all know what is a clear spam thread but I have the sensation that sometimes posts get deleted by being too strict whereas spam megathreads remain.

I'm far more strict than the moderators, I'll let you know. My report % is still roughly 91 because I report contextually spam posts (where the question is answered before in the thread) or posts that reveal their spamminess when you look more closely. The thread that you linked seems fine: you posed a genuine topic for discussion and there isn't anything wrong with it. This is unlike spam megathread starters, where they ask a vague and general question that can be answered by just looking at the title.
Were your posts deleted from the thread you linked? If so then which post? (If you could reply with the specific post via the mod message)

Would be nice if we could have access to that section to see the thread that was deleted, find our post on it and check why it was deleted... It's too vague to receive that "your post was deleted" message without access to further details.

That's not a spam thread at all, but there really aren't that many spam megathreads in meta to begin with.   That's why I like reading and posting in meta--this is excluding all the "I gotz hacked!" threads of course. Actmyname is absolutely right about speculation and bitcoin discussion.  Those sections are filled up to the dribbling-over point with garbage topics and posts therein.  I'm tempted to put both on ignore, just like the whole altcoin section.

I don't think mods owe anyone an explanation.  I'm glad they're trying to take out the garbage, so to speak.

I agree with you but only partially.

Bitcoin discussion, speculation and gambling sections are full of what many people here call garbage. In some other sections there isn’t so much garbage but there is.

So, garbage accounts for 95%+ of forum’s traffic.

Therefore, if you delete that garbage what you are doing is killing the forum and leaving the place for others to take its place.
What I don’t agree with is that a forum should be a place only for what people call quality posts. I will put an example: Barcelona in La Liga, should they stay or not? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2183872.0)

That post, in the gambling section doesn’t have quality for many people and should be trashed. As a moderator said:

... That entire Gambling sub forum is a cancer to my brain and needs trashing as well. The amount of unbelievably stupid threads in there is mind-boggling. I think we've had almost every discussion you could possible have about gambling in there and people are only doing it because of shit campaigns like Fortune Jack which force users to have most of their posts in the Gambling sub.

I don’t agree with that. As I said in other posts about the subject, a forum is not a place where people go just to find information, high-quality one. It is a place where people exchange opinions, even wrong ones and even on not very substantial subjects.

I think those kinds of posts can and should perfectly coexist with other more “high-quality” ones in this forum, like for example a post talking about scaling problems in the Development and Technical Discussion section.

In my opinion, spam should be reduced in some cases, like when people write unintelligible posts, or post written in bad English, etc. However, I don’t agree at all with the view that bitcoin discussion, speculation and gambling sections are almost 100% trash. They are sections that don’t provide so much information as entertainment and opinions. What happens here is that spam is higher than in other forums because people get paid to post. But I’ve been participating in a few forums before I joined this one and I can tell you that there is also spam, opinions and what many people here call “low-quality” posts in many of them. The most traffic there is, the more “low-quality” posts and opinions there are, even though people don’t get paid to write there.

After I will reply to @actmyname and @mrcash02. It’s taken me a while to write this post. I’m going to take a rest.

Yes, what happened was that someone bumped that thread after two months, two or three commented after the bump and I commented after. I’ll put the email I received after it was deleted (I've edited with bold to make it more intelligible, as quotes from emails don't work as quotes from forum posts):

A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted.

I guess people with good English communication skills will get more chance to be part of a signature campaign since they can communicate a discuss any topics within their knowledge grammatically correct. So they can put more quality on thier posts.

Quote from: jakezyrus on October 25, 2017, 02:35:55 PM

yeah , agreed but also ive seen most of them is still acecepted on a signature campaigns even if they are not good or fluent in english language its because some of them can still be able to comunicate well properly in a discussions although some are just obviously spamming  their way thru ranks and just posting for the sake of reaching their weekly quota.

This is my reply (Don Pedro Dinero):

A couple of months have passed since I opened this post and I’ve realized that those people you are talking about, obvious spammers, only get accepted in low quality campaigns. They are low quality posters, so they can only be accepted there.

Highest paying campaigns look for quality posters but the problem here is that many ICOs and alts who look for advertising don’t care as much and there is where spammers find their place.(end of quote)

This is the second time that happened to me. So, after re-reading the rules, I made a question in the following thread, about rule “21. Old bumps should be deleted. [2]”

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.540

No mod replied and the only guy who replied told me that he thinks rule 21 only applies to sales threads. But if that was the case, I don’t have a clue about why my posts got deleted.

That’s why I think that sometimes mods (maybe because they are too busy, or because they are tired of spam, or something) delete threads, or posts, by being too strict. Whereas we can still see many mega posts not being deleted. Although I wouldn't agree with most of them being deleted, as I said in the previous comment but I'm fully aware that I am just a forum member here.

Here's my take on what happened: the previous two replies are spam, straight-up. Not only are they spam but they are also necroposts. If the necropost is useful i.e. constructive then it is allowed but obviously those two posts are trash.

Suppose they are deleted. Your post is left. However, you had a post earlier (August). We now adhere to this rule: 32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

And thus your post is deleted. Seems a little stupid, but that's the only reason I would see your post be deleted. It's not spam.

Do you seriously not know which threads are built for sh*tposting and which ones aren't?
No because I don't know what kind of threads were removed by mods. When I see 6 posts are missing from my post count, I know that more than 1 thread was removed, I don't post more than once in a thread usually. I think forum moderators hate spam more than scam.
