Let's say you have bitcoins on the legacy chain, (BTCaddress1)

As a result, you got whatever amount of bitcoins held there in the BCash chain, (BTCaddress2)

Finally, you didn't move your coins from there, come November and you get whatever amounts of bitcoins held on BTCaddress1 in 2x's chain (BTCaddress3).

Notice that BTCaddress1, BTCaddress2 and BTCaddress3 are all the same address because the jackasses doing forks don't even bother in having their own address formats.

Anyway, my question is... does this pose any risk when I try to access one of them? what would be the correct way to access BCash and 2x without screwing up in the process? im not sure since it's a triple match...

There is no risks. What may be dangerous, is the lack of replay protection. Having the same address format itself isn't a problem at all.

To access each coin, you just need to import your private-key in a compatible wallet. Example: Electrum for legacy Bitcoin, Electron Cash for Bitcoin Cash and a compatible one for B2X.

The tutorials for BCH advise to send out the Bitcoin first, to another address of yours. And I agree to that: better safe than sorry.
After that I would search for the tutorial on BCH and coinomi. That's what I used and it works. Get your BCH and send them to exchange.
Then do something similar with the B2X or other similar forks.

[...]

Regarding the BTC / BCH / B2X / BTG address format: Just be extra careful when sending coins to an exchange. After the BCH fork there have been a lot of cases where people accidentally sent BCH to a BTC deposit address or the other way round. Most exchanges either don't bother with retrieving those wrongly sent coins, or ask for a considerable retrieval fee. Always double and triple check!

To access each coin, you just need to import your private-key in a compatible wallet. Example: Electrum for legacy Bitcoin, Electron Cash for Bitcoin Cash and a compatible one for B2X.

Not having the same address format may not be a technical problem for us users that are more experienced than the average guy on bitcoin, but think about all the newbies that come in here and have to deal wit all these forks, which all share the exact same appearance in address format.

This is just another kind of attack by the forkers trying to deliberately confuse newbies into thinking their bitcoin is the real bitcoin. It would be as easy as giving the forks different formats, but they choose not to in purpose.

Anyway, lets say I move my BTC coins to another wallet so I can access the BCH coins. But then, the BCH coins are still sitting on exactly the same BGT addresses on the BGT chain.

So should I also move BCH or BGT to another wallet before transacting with either? damn, it's going to be a mess trying to access all the coins. Im going to waste satoshis on a bunch of transactions. Yes it's still free money, but you are losing a % during this process.

Thank for the helpful post and I have a question concerning what you said because what I heard/read online was that BTG was the only fork that doesn't have replay protection and no one have complain of loosing there Bitcoin legacy coin when sending BTC. Is there any among the 2x and BTC that doesn't have replay protection or it just the BTG as I heard?

As i have read too that BTG has no replay protection unlike to BCH which is may be dangerous to those HODLER out there if they transfer their funds on BTG. With having the same address doesn't have a problem if you the only one knows it, but it is still risky if someone found out that you had the same address on your other wallet. It could be an easy backdoor attack of the attacker if they manage to know your address. My advice is do not do any transaction before or after the hard fork.

You both heard/read wrong or possibly outdated information.

Bitcoin Gold (aka BTG) has implemented full 2way replay protection: https://bitcoingold.org/replay-protection-development/

Just move your coins to another address (using coin control on Bitcoin Core or anything similar in the software you are using, and if the software you are using doesn't have something like coin control then your software is deficient) in order to retain privacy so all inputs aren't sent into the same output.

This is annoying and indeed you will spend money in fees, but there's no other way to be sure but to do this, whenever you have a matching address with funds after a fork on any number of chains. So in this case you would need to do this process 2 times, 3 times actually after November 18th or whenever segwit2x fork happens, since you will have matching addresses in 4 chains.

Im still very confused about this.

As more and more BTC forks happen, I have more and more BTC sitting on exactly the same addresses in other chains. Im scared that if I move them from one chain, it may be creating some sort of conflict in another chain and I will not be able to access them all.

Let's say I have matching BTC on BTC, BCH and some other fork that uses the same address format. How do I go about getting the BCH and this other fork out without no worries?

I move the BTC from my wallet, import this empty wallet in the BGold Core client (Bitcoin ABC), and attempt to move it, but this address is still matching with this third other fork. This doesn't matter because only matches with the original blockchain where the fork got split from matters? I hope this mess makes sense.

BTG has replay protection (google it if you want to know more)
you should not worry about creating any conflict
you can get BCH by sweeping your keys into one of the supported wallets
the algorythm is simple:get your wallet with the snapshotted bitcoins(the one that had coins at the time of the airdrop)
send all the coins to a different wallet,to be safe
create/open one of the wallets that support BTG (I used Coinomi, for example)
sweep your private keys into Coinomi
you should have the BTG balance that you can spend now, enjoy

there is a step by step guide on how to claim your bitcoin gold with Coinomi here: https://medium.com/@coinomi/collecting-your-free-bitcoin-gold-btg-coins-da937d4255d1

After the fork when you send out your bitcoins, Other sh*tcoins stay in your address on their own blockchains, There is no one to touch them without the private key which is in your possession. I want to know if there is a service that could tell me all the forks if they are still accessible, I don't wanna find their explorers one by one Cheesy

Yes, im aware of how Bitcoin Gold has replay protection, also I think Bitcoin Gold has a different format address so it's not 1xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx but it begins with an A, so Axxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx type of addresses, so it's not as much of a mess as BCash.

But, it is still insane to sweep your private keys if the contain Bitcoins... which is why I would need to move my BTC and empty the wallet to access BTG too.

So if I do this:

1) Empty my BTC wallet.dat and send to a new wallet.dat
2) Use my empty wallet.dat in the Bitcoin ABC client to access BCH and sell them or move them to a new BCH wallet if I want to hold them so they don't match addresses (it just makes me nervous knowing I have the BTC and BCH sitting on the same private keys on different blockchains for some reason, I want this separated)
3) Use this same wallet.dat I used for Bitcoin ABC that is empty (not after accessing BCH but before) into some Bitcoin Gold wallet (im not going to bother syncing a full Bitcoin Gold node to be honest, so I may use Coinomi, since it's empty keys in the BTC blockchain and I already emptied BCH, I could now access the BTG safely)

I THINK i got it right.

But there is more: Bitcoin Diamond, Bitcoin Silver, Bitcoin.... it's a nightmare. Im tired of having to move my cold storage to access these forks.

You don't need to move the BCH in Step 2... your BTC is already on different private keys as you moved it to a completely new wallet in step 1! Wink Although, you might want to move it if you're concerned about then claiming BTG and having BCH and BTG on same keys.

And good luck finding a reliable BTG wallet that isn't BitcoinGold Core Roll Eyes Lot's of scams... and Coinomi requires doing private keys one by one... you can't just import a wallet.dat.

I wouldn't be concerned about Bitcoin Diamond... its a joke at best... a complete scam at worst... https://medium.com/@btcblooddiamond/bitcoin-diamond-is-a-scam-of-epic-proportions-7d7908c43c22

All the "trading" is simply "futures" trading on a few shit exchanges like exx and binance etc... you can't withdraw, you can't deposit and there is NO BCD blockchain, no wallet, no "mainnet"... hell as far as anyone can tell, there isn't ANY code... just a website and a dead twitter/facebook Roll Eyes
