I am using Electrum 2.7.9 under Tails 3.2. Until yesterday evening, I encountered 0 issues - everything worked smoothly as I moved some XBT every few days.

Last night suddenly I have an issue with synchronization of the wallet - upon starting Electrum it goes into persistent 'Synchronizing' mode, with many of my old transactions suddenly displaying as 'Not Verified' and an incorrect balance (also Balance is 'unknown' for parts of the history).

I think there is an issue with connection to the server - presumably this could be because 2.7.9 is a little dated, but it seems strange for there to suddenly be a problem and nobody mentions it anywhere online.

What I have tried so far:
- I have a watch only wallet on my phone and a watch only wallet under Windows (same public master key) - both connect correctly and show correct balance with a correct transaction history
- I tried connecting manually to different servers that have worked before - I seem to connect OK, but am stills stuck synchronizing

My networks settings are SSL + SOCKS5@localhost:9050, as is standard for Electrum in Tails. My listed blockchain height in the client is up to date and I seem to be getting blockchain headers from multiple nodes.

Any ideas on what may have happened here?

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.
