I got some Bitcoon Gold,
It is a sort of present for newbie
I also got another present,
BTC is ATH.
Is it a good idea to start to buy Altcoins?
Do I have to wait for correction and jump to buy Altcoins?

BTC fork is still a couple weeks away, it could very easily rise even more. It is your decision on where that tipping point is to where alts are so cheap that its time to move back into them. Personally I think we may have another week of BTC rising.

It is not a bad idea to buy altcoin, There is also a thread about altcoins to have a promising concept and value, You may buy it some. Not sure when? Check TA chart, jump in the right time. I ll HODL BTC BTG now, I ll sell some later. Altcoins are a good option,.... dont miss the train

if you actually know what you are doing (but your question suggests that you don't) and have a knack for trading, it is a good idea to keep 50% in BTC and invest the rest in alts. otherwise make your life easy and keep it all in BTC - the BTC bull run will presumably continue until the end of the year, making investing in alts dangerous for the unexperienced ones.

Keeping somecash or BTC at some portion is a good idea, You may use this very good idea. I agree that BTC may rise more, But I dont think Altcoin will jump now. I ll keep my BTG. Good clue |

I sold my BTGs because I think it's a useless fork when we compare it with exact bitcoin. If you're sure that you found some promising and cheap altcoins, you can buy now. Otherwise, it doesn't worth to buy now, you may have huge loss at the end. |

I sold my BTGs because I think it's a useless fork when we compare it with exact bitcoin. If you're sure that you found some promising and cheap altcoins, you can buy now. Otherwise, it doesn't worth to buy now, you may have huge loss at the end. I was thinking that if I buy Altcoins now, it may be very good idea. Not quite sure, but it seems that you already did it, I think that I will use some of my BTC to buy Altcoins |

I am confused when bitcoin rises, all alt definitely down, will this trend continue? If you want to buy alt at the moment, i think it's the right time, but not all alt should you buy. You should also analyze and choose to gain valuable alt in the future. Bitcoin is also good, if you want to buy and store it for future assets, it is a brilliant idea.

Yeah it is so strange. Bitcoin keeps rising and all altcoins are dragging! You would think innovations and improvements from altcoins would count for something but I guess not!
I think it would be hard to time the market at this stage. I only have a little bitcoin but it is unlikely I'll trade it for altcoins unless something really jumps out at me. It could easily keep on a run of increasing a few per cent per day at this rate!

Bitcoin is moving higher and Altcoin seems heading lower, Ethereum is also like falling slowly, I still keep my BTC (small portion is buying some altcoins LOL). I would probably watch the market like you, if there is a jump so I would start to buy some,... probably. I like long term buying, so I think it may be a good idea to buy some  |

this would be my opinion too. At least wait till fork before investing in alts. Nobody knows where btc price will go or wait till the weekend. |

Even though alts right now are cheap, if bitcoin just keep going up until its peak, maybe $10,000 without even stopped by correction, those alts will get dumped even more. I honestly prefer to hold BTC right now because it seem that all the attention right now going to BTC and you can see the bitcoin market dominance, it's always increase overtime and that's a sign that more people putting their money from alts to bitcoin. |

You can try to diverse some of your portfolios with altcoin, This seems to be a good time to buy altcoin because the price fo bitcoin always increase any time. As you can see a lot of the altcoin gets rekt due to a lot of demand are going to the bitcoin, but remember to put some of your amount in the bitcoin to give you the more guarantee about your portfolio. You can try this in your portfolio. |

I would suggest buying whatever coin you want to buy right now. Except for bitcoin because i would expect a pullback from the current price simply because it is so high and historically, after pumps like this there has always been a pullback. Altcoins on the other hand have been plumetting. Always buy when price is going downhill, never uphill, unless it is a start of a trend. |

For a newbie, we may have note like this one:
Look for a possobility for a Bitcoin to have REAL correction,
Bitcoin may go to fiat or they would catch second opportunity to better specs coin: Altcoins.
I expect that the correction would be applied after Segwit 2x,
We may have a bright side of crypto after that point,
Bitcoin and Altcoins may visit moon together.
Who knows that Bitcoin and Altcoins may visit Mars?

Altcoins is interesting as some of Altcoin can make money from its service or exchange,
I would also buy Altcoins
I prefer to hold Bitcoin now.

It really depends on your stack. How much money do you have to work with. The best thing, in my opinion is to take your entire portfolio and split it. Invest half in Bitcoin and the other half use to buy into ICO's or lower capped projects/coins. This way you'll be a bit "safer" in case the ICO's won't work out for you, while at the same time take your chances for the next big thing. It's always recommended to Hodl on your coins. So leave aside a portion that you will never touch for a specified amount of years, and have another portion that you will use for investing and moving around. That's called diversification and it's a practice used widely in the finance industry "never put all your eggs on the same basket" (if the basket falls all your eggs are done, if you have many baskets, and one drops, only the one dropped will destroy your eggs).
