Bitcoin Conquering Schools

In Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon's Vipul Goyal is using Boneh's interactive online textbook for a class called Special Topics in Cryptography that the school is offering for the first time this year. About 20 students, mostly PhD candidates, are taking the class which focuses on Blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

The trend is not just limited to these two universities: the University of California at Berkeley launched a class last year called the Cryptocurrency Decal, and in 2015 the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Lab established the Digital Currency Initiative. Bitcoin, its underlying technology Blockchain, and the theory behind it, Cryptography, is big business as there has already been evidence of growth in the job market for the associated disciplines.

It is understandable thus that University students would want to align themselves with a burgeoning technology that is desperate for growth and can only benefit from additional human capital.

The next generation of Bitcoin players are being established right now and they are using the educational platform to entice more young people to be the big part of the Bitcoin family. With the newer generation already enmeshed with new technology and many innovations in communications and social media, it is just a matter of time until we can see a possible explosion of interest on Bitcoin coming from the students and young people in general. These young people can be the real future of Bitcoin and we are banking on them to be the future leaders of the cryptocurrency movement.

Is a matter of time for bitcoin to become widely known, even the poorest country has universities that give computer engineering courses and many of these students will get to know bitcoin and its technology.

For example in my country before few people knew bitcoin, but now there are more people interested in bitcoin, these people are computer engineering students.

The quote is really something I would refer to as misleading because studying bitcoin does not mean bitcoin is conquering the educational system rather they are helping bitcoin penetrate to places we don't even know because a PhD in crypto-curreny will go a long way in discovering the hidden things about bitcoin that we are yet to tap into. I suggest that it should be titled something like "bitcoin finding its way to class".

That is a good initiative, and needs to be adopted worldwide. I think in every CS book from a very early age, there must be a chapter of crypto and in higher studies, there must be a specialization in crypto currencies and blockchain technology.

More good news are coming for bitcoin's future. State's schools started to educate students about bitcoin and blockchain which will improvethis technology in the future.

Its been a dream for me that this will soon come to every schools in the world.
This is the topic (bitcoin in college??) that I’ve created regarding this and most of the replies are optimistic about it.

It is the news worth given more attention than those negative statements from unworthy individuals like Dimon. If the government will make this a priority than any other things that is useless, this will make each country economically competitive.

We are the one responsible for the young generation to lead next cryptocurrency fight with the institutions that our banks belong. This is a good move and will soon be reality.
