This question was first asked by Bitcoin.com, but I think it will be good to through this open to all here; Will Bitcoin’s rise continue after record-setting 2017?
"Bitcoin’s record-setting year is well-documented in the media. But with BTC pushing $6,500 price levels and $109.4 billion in market capitalization, what’s in store for the world’s most popular cryptocurrency?
Famous investors Ray Dalio and Warren Buffett are warning of a bitcoin bubble. But other Wall Street analysts see bitcoin perhaps reaching $10,000 or even $25,000 by next year. BTC dipped to $3,200 in mid-September and has since rallied to over $6,500. Heavy trading (of nearly 300,000 daily transactions) can lead to volatility. But investors are also weary of fiat currencies that lose value over the long-term. As an asset, fiat money almost always devalues. And investors know that with Bitcoin and other cryptos, their money has a fighting chance to appreciate in value. Despite the naysayers, it’s possible that we’ll see Bit[Suspicious link removed]ver $10,000 in early 2018." - Bitcoin.com
Do you think Bitcoin will go over $10,000 in early 2018?

I dont think bitcoin price will rise to 10.000$ pretty soon. Now, the bitcoin price is 6.600$ so there is a 3400$ difference to 10.000$ wich is not easy to get. If china and other big countries are going to open some exchangers that will help the price to increase a lot, but only the forks are not going to help bitcoin to reach 10.000$ very soon Also as the charts are showing, at the end of the year the price tends to fall a little because people are selling their bitcoin to have real money for new year

I would have said no, but honestly this year has been huge. Last year we where at +250% or something and this year we're already what, +600%-700%? This is absolutely possible to see another 33% gain in a year from this point. There could also be a 33% dip haha. I doubt that will happen at this point though.

It's possible. I think the appetite is there for further major explosiveness. Part of me hopes it doesn't though because that type of gain in that short a time usually adds up to a very lengthy hangover.
It's very easy to believe the salad days will last forever when you're up your neck in it. We all know that can't last.

Hi @MakeMoneyBtc, don't you think the current media attention and attentions from investors will skyrocket the price even higher than $10,000?

I think this is very possible because of its attractiveness to investors as well as its rapid gaining of acceptance as a legal tender

Warren Buffet is purely a chart believer. Apparently Bitcoin is already in a bubble appearance. It should be exploded at 3000. But due to huge buy others it is still pumping, and now at 6500. 10000 is possible. Lets hope for it. The one consistent thing about bitcoin is how it surprises most analysts. I think it's fair to say the majority of bitcoin critics no longer have any credibility. Calling it a "bubble" is not saying much, since every asset arguably will have a bubble -- the question is when will it go up or down. It's timing that matters to investors. Figuring out when is the hard part. In my view, $10,000 will be reached easily by 2020.

So maybe yes or not because as we observed bitcoin value is so high and no one can predict when that price reach so maybe wait and see what happen next year.

There is a possibility but somehow it is slim. I do not think Bitcoin will rally to $10k in just a short period of time. It needs to at least increase around 60% of its current value. To be more realistic i think it can possibly reach around $8000 at the end of this year to the first quarter of 2018.

I can’t say anything about Warren Buffet as I haven’t really followed him or his opinion. However, I think studying charts, from a purely visual perspective, is not enough. Also, while history CAN be an indicator of the future, it is not always. Not to mention the fact that that Bitcoin is a “new thing”. I don’t think we can apply the same analytics to Bitcoin that we have applied to stocks and mutual funds, at least not in a wholesale manner.

Yes. I think there's a good chance Bitcoin hits $10k in January.
It's attempting to hit $7k tonight. Might do it sometime this week. Could see $8k possibly before the fork this month, or otherwise maybe early december. $9k late december. $10k sometime in January or if the assault on $10k causes another crash maybe $10k by late February.

I think we'll see a minor correction before or during the upcoming fork and then we'll see a steady rise to $10k. The is pending no large news events that could make it pop either direction.

For early 2018 I think, the price still not reach $ 10,000 yet. I think on August maybe can reach $ 10,000. I know is depend on demand in the market. But I optimistic if more people know about bitcoin and invest, it will help the price up.

Anything can happen but, to me, it's very unlikely. We almost hit 7k in the last few hours, so anyone could think that the 10k goal is possible. But this massive surge in the price (almost 700$ in the last 3 days) could bring a correction, after that we will see more clearly what the actual btc price is, that's when we can begin to predict/discuss what the price is going to be in 2018.

There is a possibility but unfortunately every time there is a rally of increases in a span of a week there is always a corrections, bitcoin attacks, rumors, bad news and the incoming fork also that will give a hard time for bitcoin to come at 10000$. But if all days will or be lessen its effectiveness by May or June the 10000$ is something reachable.
Totally the 2018 is bright year as 2017 more adaptation and popularity will be widespread worldwide and may reach up to the isolated area.

It's yes for me, $10,000 is at hand and the price now is $6,800 so there are only $3,200 for an increase and we are good to go. The 2 months remaining for this year would be enough for a movement so let's just expect that time will come and it will make the price at $10,000 next year. It isn't going to be easy but let's have the faith that bitcoin will be able to make it, just no more FUDs and fake news.
