Greetings.

I am going to buy several GPU's (Graphics cards) soon and I am curious on how I shall go about assembling them. Do I need to buy anything else besides the GPU's? Keep in mind, I only have one laptop, HP - GT 740M, which isn't profitable at all.

And if possible, please do give me a several listing of set recommendations of GPU's that I should buy. Thank you!

Sincerely,
V.F

There are infinite threads and videos on assembling, components and so forth. All just a google search away. Anyway, try 1stminingrig.com, they have enough posts to cover your query!

1. you need to read about hash, marketplace, sell coins.

2. you need a buget.

3. buy strong GPU (Nvidia 1050TI, or AMD RX 470/570) Motherboard (ASROCK H81) RAM (4 GB or 8 GB) PCU (Intel Haswell Refresh, Pentium Dual-Core G3260 3.3GHz box), Power 1000 W, SDD 60 GB or more.

4. Mining Software.

You need to build a whole computer, motherboard, cpu, etc

Look at Nvidia 1060, 1070, 1080 (and AMD cards (480/570/580), as well, if those are back in stock), and see what works for your budget and what you want to mine.

Also be sure to run your own profitability calculations, factoring in your expected electricity rates.

I wouldn't recommend building an entire rig from scratch at this point, but it's up to your specific situation.

Also, the 1080 is somewhat controversial, since it generally isn't great for the price/power consumption, although, due to that general opinion, it sometimes has more options for availability. (For a while, my local BestBuy only had 1080s in stock at the physical store.) The 1080ti is fine and a great choice for rig density (hashrate out of one rig, making the best use of the slots and one set of mobo/cpu/ram/etc.), however.

I think you should decide which coin you want to mine first, then find appropriate GPU for it (reference at whattomine.com for GPU vs. algorithm). Basically, build a mining rig is making a computer with: Mainboard + CPU + RAM + PSU + SSD/HDD, so for mining you purchase more: GPUs + Riser.

I learn a lot from this channel, so hope this help!
