According to  https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/blob/master/README.md "Bitcoin Gold is a work in progress."

Does anybody know when it's planned to be released? Also can owners of BTC on Oct 24 claim Bitcoin Gold by starting up the above and copy over their wallets after the sofware has been released?

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Has there been any plans announced anywhere?

The current source code is still using block 491407 for the fork:

Code:
grep consensus.BTGHeight src/chainparams.cpp |head -1
        consensus.BTGHeight = 491407; // Around 10/25/2017 12:00 UTC

Who is the owner for bitcoin bitcoin bro. Are mean about satoshi. Hecid only one can own it. But recently many shit people coming in the news release and saying they are going to raise a patent on bitcoin. If you worry about the bitcoin gold release I would say do not bother about that. Since they show too much demand for this coin and it's value also will not grow any bigger. Go to hold btc you will get reward for the btc you have.

The latest commit in the testnet1 branch has the following message:

Code:
commit 030193646196bd52730f9fd2a16e05eb22837b5f
Author: h4x <h4x3rotab@gmail.com>
Date:   Fri Nov 10 01:59:02 2017 +0800

    Testnet v1 shutdown.

Does this mean that the testing is complete, and that it will go live soon?

According to the website mainnet should be launched now. I built and started the bitcoind-qt and it does not seem to do anything

Number of block left "Unknown..."
Progress increase per hour "calulating..."
Estimated time left until synced "calulating..."
Connecting to peers... "8 Years and 44 weeks behind"

Did anybody else get it running, or is it still not complete?

[EDIT] and the debug file says:

0 addresses found from DNS seeds

Bitcoin gold as a fork/project is proving to be very sketchy. It all feels rushed and designed solely for profits. This is the future for bitcoin sadly, there will be more splits, some will die out others may survive. watching this space. Hopefully, they announce a detailed plan about releases and the way forward.

Bitcoin Gold has a chance to get up more higher than the people want it to. I think that we should just wait till the distribution begins.

Of all the forks, Bitcoin Gold seems to be the most incompetent.

If you try to make a BTG deposit address on Yobit you get:

Deposit for such currency is temporary off.

Any other exchanges which accepts BTG?

Is there a safe way to redeem BTG yet?  I still have my coins sitting in my wallet from before the fork but haven't done anything since everything seems so sketchy.  This is nothing like the Bitcoin Cash free coins.
