Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I'd love to do a raffle.  How do you pick a random winner, though?

you pick a block number being mined and its the last number of the block hash. Just as MJ listed all the possible numbers it ends in. Follow this post and you will see what block number coming up that he chooses.
example would be if he chose block number 492858 go to blockchain info select the block and you will see the hash ends in a 5 so number 5 would have been the winner.

actually now I confused myself, is it the hash or the transaction number we use LOL someone will chime in.

It's the hash of the mined block # - usually the last character.

Good luck, watching this one, what's the deciding block #? Cheesy

My prediction is the winner will be whomever is holding the 9 spot.
