So I have the Bitcoin-Qt wallet thing on my computer. I stopped trying to get bitcoins before but now I'm trying again. I went on like 15 sites and posted my address for free bitcoins thing and it says it was sent to my wallet. The blocks were all updated, I had active connections to it. Although it said the wallet is encrypted in the corner. I waited like 2 days and none have arrived, even though it said updated again in the corner. I searched for all the transactions on blockexplorer but only 1 was there, and that was 2 months ago from 1 free bitcoin website. THat was the only one that ever worked. I got an internet wallet instead and did a few more surveys or whatever on different sites and sent it to that internet wallet. They still never arrived. How the fuck do I fix this? Is it my internet connection or what?
It's probably nothing to do with your wallet or your Internet connection or, really, anything else under your control. Payouts from free BTC sites can easily take many days or weeks. Of the ones I've tried, I'd say the most consistent and reliable are Bitvisitor (
http://www.bitvisitor.com/) and bitcoins4.me (
http://www.bitcoins4.me/).
You're on the right track with your blockexplorer.com lookup (you might want to try blockchain.info too, which I prefer because the transaction display is prettier and easier to read). The process of a free BTC site sending coins to your address is entirely between the website and the blockchain. If the transaction isn't showing up in the blockchain, it's because the free site(s) haven't paid you. Your Internet connection and local wallet only matter when you're trying to see your balance locally, and when you want to spend your coins.
