the pumps are going on all around the altcoin market, you don't need to stick to the airdrops to maybe someday a pump comes and you make money 1 out of a 10000 times. you can buy into any of the coins that are being pump at any time and make the same or even more profit with no time wasted on your money being idle.

and people dump their airdrop coins because they know everyone else is doing it, so they try to be quicker about it and get the better price before the crash. and that expectation alone is enough for a crash to happen right after the release.
if you really see potential you can always buy back what you dumped!

It's simply because a huge majority of the coins being airdropped aren't as good technology-wise compared to bitcoin years ago. Also, doesn't mean that bitcoin multiplied alot of times, it doesn't mean the same will happen to those coins that airdropped.

A lot of currently airdropped coins are just 'pump and dump', there is nothing behind them. Recent 'eSomething' coins are a good example. There are interesting airdropped coins that have a future, but they are few.

As the name suggests, they are merely free coins and people see this as free money. With that in mind, people will start to sell them of as soon as they are listed in the exchange because more often than not, the prices of these free coins tend to nose dive. They will not take the risk of having a much lower value of it if they just hold these coins.

Since they are merely free coins from recently-concluded forks, it's best to just monetize them and use the money/cash into some other ventures like investing into another altcoin or whatnot. Also, there are no stability or guarantees on these said coins, so why not dump it off while it still have some value and not be left with paperweight?

people dump these free coins because of they aren't really profitable coins. Also airdrop owners aren't liable for holding these coins. if i see a true and successible projects i will hold their coins for later.

Personally, I hold almost all the airdropped coins I get. While it is possible to make small amounts by selling them right away (usually less than $50) it isn't worth the trouble to me, and you can't really tell which ones have a future (though there are signs that indicate more or less potential). Even ones without a new tech behind them could catch on in some niche context or become popular with a specific community/subculture. I feel like it is just impossible to really tell so I hang onto them and plan to check back in a year or so. Good luck!

I think now, more than ever, is a time to accumulate different coins at low prices. My strategy with airdropped coins/tokens is to just sit on them for a good time, and have them be the "outlier" portfolio that someday might surprise me.

If you receive something valuable for free, would you keep it or sell it? most airdrop coins are shitty ones, and they are not even worth $1 each one, because there are billions of them in circulation.
Honestly, i dont even trust in deeponion and it is one of the most trusted airdrops, but who knows, maybe people are only joining airdrops in order to sell those free coins later.
The same applies to bitcoin gold and bitcoin cash, dumping them was the best desicion that i took.

Not everyone dumps them. I know lots of people who mine, collect airdops, do bounties on as many coins as they can and keep them all. Even if 95% of them are dear in a year or two the rest might give you some juicy profits, and if not - what do you really lose? Right, nothing except a bit of your time.

Crypto world consists mostly noobs who just want to make quick bucks without having to do anything, but free.
These noobs don't like to wait specially when they get it for free because, when they know they got something that gets pumped initially, get too much scared of the possibility of that coin to become something which will have some worth in the future. All just because it's free.
It is said that only a true "Bitcoiner" knows the real value of "Bitcoins", others are just dead-fall.

Many people dump free coins from airdrops just because they think such coins have no future. So it's better to convert to ETH or BTC before it's too late and they get delisted from exchanges...

I'm sure many people dump due to rising price of bitcoin. My thoughts are, why not just hodl what you have been given in most cases free and help support the project that is graciously giving you these coins/tokens. Greed tends to take over. I will continue to hodl all airdrops I have received and if down the road pays off then cheers!! If any or all become extinct than so be it. It is very important for the success of each project to show full support in these regards. Stay true and hodl my friends especially when it cost you next to nothing but a few minutes of your time. Hodl is the only way
