I'm one of the victim.
2 weeks away to become a full member, then boom, someone stole my account yesterday just to do some flamming.

I am seeing a lot of people claiming that their accounts have been hacked. I am just baffled, I wasn't aware of this.
1)To those who have been hacked, do you know how that happened?
2)Does anyone know why hackers would steal a forum account?
3)I now realise the importance of staking my bitcoin address. Now my question is, do I have to use an address of those wallets that doesn't change after using it?
I've never seen so many hack claims before on bitcointalk as in the past month.
It's quite startling.  1) My guess is that people have gone to malicious sites and entered
their info on those.  Then there are those who haven't changed their passwords since
the last big hack, where all the data was dumped (I think).
2) Selling accounts is one thing.  And I've seen high ranked accounts that were hacked
and then entered into sig campaigns.  That's extremely ballsy, if you ask me, but it's
happened.  Sig campaigns these days are very lucrative.  If you've got a legendary
account in a campaign that pays 0.03BTC/week, that's over $200/week.  And imagine
if you were in a poor country and had multiple accounts in multiple campaigns.
3) No.  You should be able to sign a message from a wallet that changes addresses. I've
never seen that be a problem here.
i was hacked and no i didnt go to malisious sides or was stupid with my pw
and btw bitcointalk was the only acount of mine that was hacked and i have many.
if i had maleware on my pc why are the otheres not hacked ?
they moderators then banned my hacked acount and i am glad about that but they didnt erase it. id have perfered that .

and i never use a link of a email and enter my data so i am certain the roots of the hack is not on the user side.
considering the amount of hacked acounts.

It seems to me that the problem is that users simply register everywhere on the same mail, climb on different sites, which collect data about users and register there.

btctalk accounts are very valuable .. i also lost my sr member account and now struggling to recover it .. once account is hacked its nearly impossible here to recovery.. so take care of your accounts
