There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

This was an abnormally large transaction (over 1000 bytes).  You most likely accepted several transactions to make up the 0.387 BTC that you sent.  The precise dollar value isn't particularly relevant.

Your fee in relevant terms was 220 satoshi/byte.  This is expected to take about six to seven hours.

What's important is that there's not very much gap in time between 220 satoshi/byte and dramatically lower.  You could still have sent that much with a fee of more like 100 satoshi/byte and expect your transaction to get confirmed.  A couple of weeks ago you could have comfortably sent BTC with fees of 20 satoshi/byte.

Ah I see. Could someone help me accelerate this by any chance?

I could accelerate it myself for $4 but I don't have any confirmed coins, so I'd have to send from an unconfirmed previous tx, not sure if they will accept it.

Yes they are legit, I have used their service although its only the free service one not the paid one with over 500 bytes. You should wait as I bet you're not the only one who's using it so it's probably not as fast as you think but its definitely faster compared to free ones. 60K unconfirmed transactions atm so these accelerator services are very popular at this time

EDIT: I just checked it. Its been included on Block #492962 with 9 confirmations atm

Here on bitcointalkforum there is offered a free accelerator. Maybe that could help you.

I had a transaction with over 200 confirmations (but accidentally paid rediculus low fee. Was wondering, that it got through)
