I'm not Yoruba but two of the most important words which I heard most frequently during my brief stay in Kwara State, Oyo State and Ogun State and even among Yorubas in non-yoruba speaking states are:

1- eloni (how much?)
2- Soro Soke (speak up) - This one has an emotional undertone for me. We know why already.

I do not speak yoruba language but I had to learn some for easy community relations. Some of the word commonly used are;
• eloni - how many
•wa jewun - come and eat
•meji -2
•meta - 4
•ekaro - good morning
•eka sun - good afternoon
•odaro - goodnight

So many to say but these came out quickly.
