Bitcoin market dominance keeps going up and Alts market dominance keeps going down.
Whats caused bitcoin to reach current all time highs? Is it segwit or its free airdrop forks or am I missing any good confirmed news of bitcoin?

Segwit2x, forks and so on, let me explain what will happen next: bitcoin will crash and altcoins will recover. That is simple, there will be no end for whole market but could be for some coins in the future for certain.

Bitcoin will not crash right now,this year at least.
but in a near future we will see a correction with the price and it will be slightly deeper than before because of the segwit2x.
so will altcoin hit their previous ATH ? yes and no.
if we're keep surviving for a few years later on,we should see it in the future.
but if crpytocurrency can not last long,we will not see it.
why i can say that ? because it's human nature,they will never satisfy with all of their money and want more.
so as long as Bitcoin survive,we should see another ATH for altcoin or at least past ATH.

I agree with this, it is the same thing that happened at the last fork and bitcoin cash. After a few weeks of people riding the btc hype, they will eventually go back into alts and btc will crash |

I agree with this, it is the same thing that happened at the last fork and bitcoin cash. After a few weeks of people riding the btc hype, they will eventually go back into alts and btc will crash I also expecting the price of bitcoin to crash slightly then some altcoins will recover back to their previous price but some few will die forever. |

It is rule set in stone by time : when Bitcoin price rises, all the altcoins drop. Also, when Bitcoin drops or stagnate, altcoins price tend to grow back, but since Bitcoin is not at all wanting to stop its climb to the skies, that is not for now.

Hello. Have patience, altcoins will be back to their Ath after the fork i think, but not all altcoins. I hope I picked enough winners. But im in for the longterm (2—3 years)

In my opinion, bitcoin dominance belongs in at least the 70s% if not the 80s%. What we'll see, in my opinion is a dichotomy of coins. The useless projects will just get completely abandoned while the actually good projects will get pumped. It's basically a redistribution of wealth within the altcoin market. Will alts ever reach their ATH or rather bitcoin dominance ATL? I don't think so. But we could see specific coins go above and beyond others. |

The big move in summer in Alts was only the start. Now most of those have corrected the summer gains
and we should see another big rise into new ATHs for most alts by 2018 summer.

These threads just keep appearing all the time. There is no end to alts, investments simply take time to appreciate. Most alts are garbage and will die though, so good luck picking the right ones if a short drought like this already freaks you out...

Current market sentiments is driving people to move more towards BTC, however, post fork, there will be a stable market with strong alts getting stabilized. Eventually, there will be few trash alts who are and will be used just for PnD, but no good investor care about them and they may go dead by the end.
Your portfolio must always be divided in 70-30 (Long - Short) term trades and your long term trades must belong to alts in early investments so that you dont feel the pain when they bleed with BTC bull run.

It's not the end of the road pal. It's only the end of the road if your coins are delisted. Just wait right after the forks and I'm sure our altcoins will go climbing back. All time high will happen again and btc will get stable or have a correction either way.

If you are not believing about altcoin and you can try to leave from here and just try to hold bitcoin. I remember a lot of people are saying like you in the previous year. and at q1 and q1 of this month the altcoin touch its new ath and I believe about the future will be the same as before. Because altcoin really contain a lot of potential. |

probably forks are responsible to this sudden price hike of bitcoin and also segwit can be a factor but airdrops? i dont think so. i believe alts can still pump and reach new all time high but it would take month or years to happen because there many reasons that can affect its growth. yet altcoins are still on danger again because i heard some rumors that there is another incoming fork that will happen this december that could lead to another new coin to born which is bitcoin silver. |

End of the road? definitely not.
Think of bitcoin/altcoin dominance as gold/silver ratio. it's a pendulum that swings both ways, right now it's just correcting back to bitcoin's side. Now in the short term i can see bitcoin dominance still go up but in a year or less, we'll see altcoin market share increase once again.
Keep holding whatever coin you believe in. Eventually you'll turn a profit.
