Is there a focal point for the EMD community other than this thread? I have some products I may like to promote exclusively through EMD for payment in the future.

I think this is it for EMD currently, post here seems best for now, and I can add you to the site perhaps to.

im having this problem:

 Testing bitcoind P2P connection to '127.0.0.1:12127'...
...taking a while. Common reasons for this include all of bitcoind's connection slots being used...

i copied the codes as u paste it but it not working, any help ?

I don't know what operating system you have on your computer, but, I think that something program has already taken this port. I work in Linux.
If your operation system is Linux, too - you should use the command:
Code:
netstat -natp |grep 12127
Output will show the name of the program using the port:
Code:
tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:12127           0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      4652/emerald-qt
tcp6       0      0 :::12127                :::*                    LISTEN      4652/emerald-qt
(On my computer it's emerald-qt)
You can remove this program or change the port used by it.
Also you can change the port that uses emerald.
There is parameter "port"in the file emerald.conf:
Code:
rpcuser=YourRpcName
rpcpassword=YourRpcPassword
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.0.*
rpcport=12128
port=12127
addnode=198.199.90.252
addnode=24.6.21.198
addnode=108.27.249.69

 And in file ~/p2pool-emd/p2pool/bitcoin/networks.py it's:
Code:
P2P_PORT=12127,

I think, it would be good to add some links to the EMD exchanges at the 1st message...

P.S. Sorry for errors in English - it's not my native language...

I've added Emerald (EMD) as my "The Resurrected" coin choice on http://p2pool.sawilson.org , and added a link to the most current wallet (bottom of the page). There's a 1 percent fee. I noticed it rocking coinwarz and I can't believe how easy it is to mine something that's so profitable at the moment. The block explorer kinda sucks, but hey, you can trade it on Cryptsy.

Emerald Bootstrap.dat

   bootstrap.dat

bootstrap.dat allows a new Emeraldcoin client (not synced) to rapidly import the initial blocks from a
local file instead of slowly downloading blocks from random peers. This significantly reduces the
time it takes to get a client synced with the current blockchain.

Simply having bootstrap.dat in Emeraldcoin's expected data directory will make your initial block sync
much faster. The import process can be even faster if you use the -dbcache=1000 command line
parameter which uses an additional 1GB of RAM for the database index cache.

   Extracting the bootstrap.dat.xz

Regardless of your operating system, use the following steps to make use of the bootstrap.dat file:

1.   Download bootstrap.dat.xz from mirrors or torrent.
2.   Decompress the bootstrap.dat.
3.   Put it into the Emeraldcoin datadir. "%appdata%/emerald" / "~/.emerald"
         (This is the same folder that contains wallet.dat and the blocks folder.)
4.   Delete bootstrap.dat.old if you want to recover some storage space.

    Emeraldcoin Data Folder

    Linux
Code:
xz -d bootstrap.dat.xz
Emeraldcoin's data directory is located in ~/emerald/ by default. You can run ls -a to see
directories that start with a period. You can also search for the directory with the following
command:
Code:
find / -name wallet.dat -print 2>/dev/null

   Mac
You can obtain xz from MacPorts or http://macpkg.sourceforge.net/.
Emeraldcoin's data directory should be located in ~/Library/Application Support/emerald/.

   Windows
7Zip is a free utility that can decompress .xz files, so does the latest version of WinRAR.

Click on Start then Run (or press WinKey+R) and type:
Code:
explorer %APPDATA%\emerald
Emeraldcoin's data directory will open. "AppData" and "Application Data" are hidden by default in
Windows.

   Copy bootstrap.dat to data directory

Copy the bootstrap.dat to your data directory. Load the Emeraldcoin client and wait for it to load the
blocks. After loading is complete, the bootstrap.dat will be renamed to bootstrap.dat.old at which
point you can choose to delete it.

Hey guys, while I have not mined EMD directly, I do buy it on cryptsy so to help further EMD as a payment method I just thought I'd let you know that I am accepting it as a payment method for my "Goxxed for the Last Time!" commiserative coin.

Why not pop over to the thread and take a look? Smiley

Hello, everyone.

I've been following Emerald as well as Diamond and Ruby Coins for awhile now. I think with current development in Diamond DMD it is time for Emerald to do something to attract more people into mining and owning the Coin which has tremendous potential. Change in Algo, more services and some marketing will be nice.

Be careful downloading the wallet posted on that site, as it has strong indications to be compromised! Virustotal finds 17/52 - which is considerably high, as most wallets show no signs of viruses at all.
It seems the author deleted all traces of the old wallet (perhaps no viruses) from all sites about Emeraldcoin. The only wallet I could find was on the above mentioned site.

Yes, anyone out there. Let's offer it to the Diamond Developers they are doing great job with changing the Algo. It will be great to have all this precious gems under one maintainer.

I kept a copy of the current v1.3 release of Emerald, so I went ahead and uploaded to several locations below.

I don't think the community of coin supporters enjoy the idea of seeing a coin project just die, especially those who have invested their hashrates regardless of the speedbumps the coin may face.

Let's not allow this coin die. Some of the old coins have great potential and deserve to be kept alive.We can make the difference. We need to involve more people into the cryptocurrencies world.
