I have some doubt about Crypto network , BTC is the major one i Know but when BTC is going UP Why ALTCOIN is suddenly going down what is the link between BTC  and  altcoin ? I'm new to Crypto network, These days I focus on BTC veriation and Altcoin veriation then I get this problem.

Hope seniors help me to clarify this matter

It's honestly just completely normal.

The correlation between alts and bitcoins are not actually that defined. If you look previously, when bitcoin went up altcoins went up quicker. When bitcoin went down, altcoins went down quicker. But now it's the reverse that is true.

Altcoins just have cycles of boom and bust, right now, it's in bust.

IMO it's normal since altcoin try to adjust their value toward bitcoin.
So if bitcoin is on uptrend and altcoin also experience the same , it means that their demand also increase just like bitcoin so if you able to invest with correct crytpocurrency, you will experience double Profit although the chance is quite LOW !

This has always been the scenario since bitcoin is the main exchange rate for all altcoins
this is normal, once they see that bitcoin will go up, because of the news all altcoin holders
are dumping all the coins they have once dump happen, it will automatically drop the price
and bitcoin since lots of buyers flee to btc there is stopping the price of coins to go down
same with btc once they see price are going to go down, they will buy altcoins

I think the main reason is that people follow the money, because no one want to miss out on the profit the selling pressure will trigger selling order and the panic sell will start, this is because most people still use exchange for the wallets

Bitcoins increase the price of most investors will immediately withdraw from the altcoin to bitcoin to increase profits so if you notice, when the bitcoint price increase, the volume of the altcoin suddenly dropped to altcoin will discount. At times altcoin along with bitcoin price increase

There is not a clear and precise rule, which is always repeated.
Most likely though:

1) when Bitcoin gets up strong and so all the other coins come down, as in these weeks that everyone wants to have the Bitcoins and sell the other coins for them.
2) when Bitcoin drops sharply and so much then all the other coins come down because it means there is fear and panic in the market, and investors sell everything at any price and expect better times, "parking" the money in FIAT.
3) When Bitcoin rises slowly or moves shortly then all the other coins go up so much, and there will be coins that will make x5 - x10 - x50 even in a month

I believe that by the end of 2017 all other coins will suffer for the strong speculation on the Bitcoin blockchain  Wink

This is a long known relationship since a lot of coins are quoted in BTC. So when the BTC value goes up, alts BTC Value goes down and the fiat value stays about the same therefore

Yes, when looking at the USD price charts there are often no rapid changes and people prefer to perceive altcoins rather in fiat currency. There is also this thing, that when bitcoin prospers well or there is some interesting news, like it was recently with the forks, which would give literally "free money", investors are selling all of their altcoins to be able to invest as much as possible in the bitcoin, therefore raising it's price even more, while dumping alts.

Most of the cryptocurrency day traders have no bank accounts to access their fiat, but they are free to pair trade with Bitcoin, they are mining altcoins

To dump for Btc, and there are some people holding the majority of some coins, a week from now when Bitcoin will have a hard fork and a split.

A new altcoin Segwit2x will get listed on exchanges, more Bitcoin is = more Segwit2x, why would they keep holding altcoins with low and stupid

Prices when they can get a coin worth more than $1000 by having Bitcoin?

How do you know it will be worth more than 1000 USD? You surely know more about BTC as I only got my blockchain fever a couple of months ago but this fork really got me worried. It does not look to me as if this fork will just follow the pattern of previous one. It feels more like a serious power struggle. On a different note I am not worried for the ALTs in general or Ethereum. Quite the opposite.

For many bitcoin and altcoin are substitutes and thus as the price of one is increasing they substitute their holdings of the one in to the other. So when bitcoin price is trending upwards people are keen to get a hold of it and so they dump their altcoins to free up funds.

How to control altcoins. Control Bitcoin.
And how to control Bitcoin. Control devs and company that is developing and maintain Bitcoin.

Most of the people holding Altcoins trade them into BTC, as they are preparing for the upcoming bitcoin fork which an expected market price of the latter (BTC) might happen. If there's more demand due to this kind of event then supply will suddenly increase its price. Once its all over, which I believe will last for a quarter or until 1st qtr. nxt year, btc price will be constant with a few ups and downs and thats the time altcoin prices will regain its composure.

It’s kinda simple actually . It’s about the way money flows. When bitcoin starts to gain some value all investors take their money from alt coins and invest it in bitcoin. That helps bitcoin gain even more value. In the other hand when people take their money from alt coins they lose value.

Well before sometime... There was the opposite, if BTC went down all Alts went to! Now after the first hard fork ,when everybody got free money from bitcoin cash, there was another fork on the way... So everybody took out their money from alt coins and put them in BTC in order to get again free money. The second fork never happen and now all these people will put their money again back to alts and new ICOs...
