Hah, a new registered account...
BTW, did you see there is a big volume trading in last several days? How can you prove that the big whale dumped the coins? In order to get more coins, I actually bought a lot. I believe this project is worth to invest, and then I just buy the coin.
So what if I'm new, i just stated that I am new to crypto and looking to get in some airdrop coins, does it make my post less valid now? yes, a big volume after falling from 5USD just weeks ago lol.

What a shame, it looked like it had real potential. Will be staying well away from it. Thanks for the info.
So what is the problem? Try another airdrops or find a work to get money for future investments. There are too many projects,so will be great count of scams.

No, you could not be new to the crypto, you know too much to be a fresh. I new to crypto but not new to trading. I'm a stocks trader before moving in to this crypto space, so better check you facts before labeling someone. and checking on the chart, it sure was a pump and dump scheme when it rose from 5 and dropped to less than a dollar. happens to penny stocks as well 80-90% of the time.

None are missing out yet, but you have to do something else than shouting scam if you want in. Even if you for whatever reason can't join the airdrop, there are lots of ways to get coins for free by contributing to the project. I got 150 onions today (I must be easy to bribe) just from being active on the forums and trying help a little where I see I can (bugs, suggestions, what not), and in addition some from giveaways and events in the deeponion forum. The 150 onions are from less than 2 weeks, and I'm not the spammy kind of guy. The airdrop model may seem unfair, but there are still 23 airdrops left, so if you do a little bit of an effort, you can join, and still even have a chance getting founder status, if your bitcointalk account is created before 1.oct. You need jr member status too. (I just got in on the airdrop, contributing to the scam:p) Link in signature.

So i was scouting BCT for some new airdrops and found the Deep Onion one. It seems to have a solid community at first but upon deep research in their forum it seems like there's a problem with their new airdrop system. The new participants are now required 100 Onions to participate and the previously BCT rank based distribution was changed to a percentage. This sounds fine when you first here it but when you do the math, all the top holders will be holding 1/8 of the total airdrop distribution system!! There is a very large gap with the old participants vs the new ones, imagine the top holders having 100K onions that receives 7k onions a week vs new participants which receives a mere 7 PIECES - that's right you read it properly, 7 pieces.
And to think that they removed the 90% hold rule, the top holders gaining a massive 1000 times Onion per week could just dump their onions to all the new participants who needs to buy 100 pieces to participate in the supposedly "FREE" airdrop.
For newcomers it's pointless. Newcomers basically invest for the longterm holders who do f all.

I cant see why deeponion is scam. Then pretty much every coin out there is scam becouse they are all based on same principle...

Some really good projects out there. For DEEPONION I think the recent airdrop kind of exposed them.

Airdrops are a scam anyway.
What is your reasoning behind such a statement? Did you even think for a second before posting something so silly? I agree that majority of the airdrops are indeed scams, but there are airdrops like NEM, Decred, DeepOnion etc that have rewarded people with a lot of free money for just signing up for their airdrop. I am talking about thousands of dollars. DeepOnion actually made many people happy by giving them free money on a regular basis(2 of my friends can attest to this) and people still call it a scam. They have the right to change their rules whenever they want to.

I have been following the project closely these last weeks and at least I think people are especially committed to the project, taking solid steps towards the consolidation of a truly interesting and useful crypto.
The simple fact that it is distributed through airdrops, and that its distribution rules are modified over time does not make it scam, although many people complain and cry for having missed the opportunity to join at a better time.

The new rules are the compromise between making members invest in the community and rewarding those have put more effort in. Yes, you can buy your way up the % ladder, but mostly those are going to be the members that have been there since the beginning that have earned their onions through the airdrops. I personally don't have a lot of onions so I'm on the newbie side of things, and I can see the compromise being made here. Previously any freeloader could just do their minimum posts per week and earn some onion, now they added another drop that anyone can get into on the forum for being active. Both these together make it more obvious that their goal is to reward those that participate.

Deep onion really did pick a weird distribution scheme for its system's tokens. I think that it's quite indicative of the seriousness of the project. Its market capitalization has remained low thought the release of it and I don't think that it will be going anywhere higher. More than likely that it will be forgotten sooner or later, no big loss.

The airdrop is fair, it has certain rules. Newbies aren't welcome, because then, everyone would be making 10 accounts and getting x10 ONIONS. There are new rules now and they're much softer. Previously you had to keep 90% of coins in your wallet, now that rule is gone.

damn the responses here are ridiculous. The Deep Onion herd are flocking here to defend the coin to their death haha. Hopefully you wake up one day and realize how you've been all tricked to a p & d system

A "softer" approach or a dumping machine for the large bagholders? They can just dump you the coins they get from the airdrops with each new buy-ins from the participants that get the 100 onions requirement. Rinse and repeat. I don't know why you guys still don't see that.

That's kind of hilarious in a sad way.
But then again, I'd advise staying away from all airdrops. You never know how many coins the "dev" team holds because it's easy and cheap to buy hundreds of sockpuppet accounts to redeem airdrops and manipulate the coin. And they have too much control anyway... just look at Onion.
I actually believe this is happening with this coins and others, how long this forum has been in operation? for only newbies and jr members to be interested in these alt coins. Im seeing alot of activity like this, Also maybe I am wrong, maybe not enough exp members not joining these air drops due to them being burnt by these kinds of events.
