Earlier,we saw china which was a dominant power in bitcoin trading banned all ICOs due to lots of scam projects.Following it,south korea took the same step and now vietnam.

Now every one's eye is on japan.Japan has been the powerhouse of crypto currencies having almost 63% of world's bitcoin trade.Already, many global companies have shifted towards japan and switzerland due to the crypto friendly environment.

Now,with increasing scam ICOs,could japan too take the same step?

And if it bans all ICOs,then what would be the immediate impact over the crypto world?

Kindly share your thoughts.

It would be better if they regulate ICOs instead of banning them all. There are some scam ICOs ,but there are lots of good projects as well.Banning ICOs will be a bad decision ,because lots of cryptocurrency owners and investors will run away from Japan.
Anyway,i don`t believe that a mass cryptocurrency ban would happen in Japan.

ICO are getting banned because of the many scams associated with it, but I feel sooner or later it will be better there will be some rules. As far as Japan is considered, I don't think they will immediately take a action because they have heavily invested in Bitcoins and any price fall will severely effect them, so for time being it's safe in Japan but I don't think for long though.

I doubt it, because Japan has never been like-minded to China. Japanese thinks very differently among these Asian countries, and with them accepting bitcoins as payment for merchandises, I doubt if they will attempt to ban ICOs. Keep in mind that ICOs attract new bitcoin adapters. Japan is a BTC friendly nation, I assume.  Roll Eyes

I think japan will not make ico.
But if japan blocks some detected ico cheats I think it's better.

Unpredictable at the moment to know exactly which countries are banning them I would convert them to Bitcoin just to be sure.

It's possible or might not and every country could be the next of China and Vietnam with the topic of banning bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, but because bitcoin in Japan is now effective and more people acknowledge it.
And more local stores accepting bitcoin as a payment method so it's unlikely to happen in Japan.

Yeah, we dont know what exactly they are thinking about bitcoins now. If some country will think that bitcoin is a risk to them then there will be a chance that they will ban it. I just hope those other big countries will not do it because it will really impact bitcoin price.

I dont know how can ICO be regulated? Anyone with just a set of laptop and a few other hardware equipment can come up with an ICO without even disclosing his country. People boast about the anonymity of bitcoin but this is what makes it diffcult to regulate. I hope that japan does not bans ICO or else we might see another setback to crypto community.

so many countries have banned ICOs and i hear news of new countries every day talking about how illegal ICOs are. so there is a pretty good chance that Japan can be the next one to ban ICOs.

it is always some people who will ruin everything for the rest of us. a couple of scammy ICOs and lots of illegal money raised by them ruins ICO for all the rest of the ICO projects and they have to burn with the bad ones alike.
although Japanese may take a different rout unlike others. they may allow some of the ICOs to go through.

Do you think that banning Bitcoin is a problem ?
First of all there is no reason to ban it.
Second, we suppose that it is banned I Don't think that it will influence a lot the price of Bitcoin. It happened with China (the first Bitcoin community) and it caused 1500 usd as a loss. So I Don't think that it will drop that way it Japan ban it.

I genuinely think all these countries banning ICO'S are.. not looking at the bigger picture... You just don't shut.. Something out if..it.. Causing troubles..you go forth and solve it.. scams are everywhere..even in the government that doesn't mean that the government will be banned right ?
I think they should make rules stricter and should think about solving rather than shutting the situation out. If one has to scam he will do if.. through ICO'S or through any other medium.

If Japan ban's the ICO'S or not depends upon the government's mentality..

I really think instead of banning they should make some rules that one has to follow before thinking of launching an ICO and all that paperwork and stuff should be added here too.

Like China, Korea, Indonesia have already banned ICO`s.
Now news has started about biggest contributor Japan.
Japan is like power source for bitcoin industry.
Japan trades more than 60% of bitcoin transaction.
Japan is a conservative nature country, current increasing IOC scams worrying japanies government.
So following the swift actions by its Asian partners Japan may ban IOC`s or put strong restrictions on its operations.

My opinion is that, there's a chance for it. The other countries that I can say not so cryptocurrency friendly have taken an action against ICO to prevent their citizens from scammed.
Seeing that japan currently considered as the most friendliest country to digital currency such as cryptocurrency, they might release a really strict regulation but, if it's not enough to prevent fraudsters, they may just ban it and the problem gone.

Do you think that banning Bitcoin is a problem ?
First of all there is no reason to ban it.

As you can see, ICO is a parasite that overdrafts the future of the virtual cryptocurrency world.Because most of the ICO's project in 2017 is not good enough, it has gradually become a financial scam.I think the future of virtual cryptocurrency will focus on mining, updating various algorithms, similar to XZC and ZEC

It is possible Japan could do that because South Korea made a stance and made a point of pointing out the difference between speculative ICO's and Bitcoin. Since Japan legalized Bitcoin in their country they could very well do that, however they might try and put regulations around something like that to try and profit from it kind of like the way they are with taxing BTC right now.

Now news has started about biggest contributor Japan.
Japan trades more than 60% of bitcoin transaction.

First phrase makes absolutely no sense.
Second, I don't care about trading volume and nobody should care even one tiny bit.
Remember how China had 10x the amount of all western exchanges? We all now how this ended.
And this 63% coming from the country that allowed the entire Gox drama to happen, I don't buy it.

If so, Japan will become a very important bitcoin trading countries, will dominate the future development of bitcoin

I really fail to see how this would be a great thing. Is China dominating the development of btc , now that it has banned ICOs ?

I think the future of virtual cryptocurrency will focus on mining, updating various algorithms, similar to XZC and ZEC
If the future of cryptos is to burn electricity like an aluminium plant and each of us to have 20 miners or GPU cards in our closet, then count me out.

Arguably most ICOs are simply unregulated securities that try to use legal loopholes, which puts them in a legal grey area in the first place.

So yeah, I could very well imagine Japan banning -- or at least trying to regulate -- ICOs. Their friendly stance towards Bitcoin has nothing to do with their -- currently unknown? -- stance towards ICOs. While both exist in the same space, Bitcoin and ICOs are two wholly different asset classes.

ICOs are an amazing concept, but unless the market gets its shit together I think it's only a matter of time until more bans follow.
