You should read their white paper and road before buy altcoins. You need to read there latest development and If the coin dump you can invest in altcoins. But investment in bitcoins is good.If you can hold bitcoin for long term then you can make a good profit.

There are 1260 cryptocurrencies around nowadays but most of them are crap. You gotta watch your step on the market and find out which coins have a solid roadmap ahead and/or actually add value to the cryptosphere. It is probably a good idea to put a significant portion of your investment into Bitcoin as it makes you less prone to the severe fluctuations of the altcoin market.

There are lots of altcoin out there that actually not giving you profit instead just made them to scam someone or made for pump and dump not good if you are a long term investor..   
I recommend to choose altcoin only in a good rankings in coinmarketcap.com Check that site you can see almost all altcoin but i only choose altcoin which is already in top 20 altcoin and few coins from $500k market cap. those  altcoin for me  is getting me good profit even i only had small amount to invested in trading i just slowly learning and experience how to trade...

Meh, I wouldn't go ahead and read whitepapers. Anything in them is just going to be bloated, full of shit, and unhelpful to investors as all of the information which is in the whitesheet isn't going to be information which matters to anyone anyway -- as nothing ever comes out of these.

If you're going to choose to invest in Altcoins, I'd go ahead and look other data such as the amount of people which are searching for this coin on google, the activity of developers, activity of people on their forums, slack, telegram, etc.

Also the trading data, volume, etc. That's the only data that's going to matter when getting involved in the world of trading.

Just remember, trading altcoins is like trading penny stocks -- goodluck!

what you can do is you need to buy the altcoin right now if you want to waiting altcoin is back to increase but first you need to learn about trading. there is many guide available in many websites especially in youtube, just search with keyword "learning trading" or something like that and I am sure that you can found many lesson for trading. after you understand then you need to try what you learn, its fine if you can not make your first profit and you can try it in another days and don't be greedy when you think you can make your profit.

For Trading Cryptocurrency, firstly you should choose what coin you like.
just do a research for that coin, like team behind it, the future plan, the project purpose and others.
and also always check the volume on transaction every 24 hours. it's good when it has a big volume.
so if you already found it, you must build a psychology on your mind that you don't care with the price of that coin going down.
if you already have that mindset, learn about the technical trading like read a candle , using a indicator and etc. learn it from now.

Here my suggestion for you to take small amount of the bitcoin about 0.01btc and then start trade with your own mind .
Don't see that what the other articles and other people giving suggestion ( I am not talking about the experienced people's suggestion ) .
Make buy of the coin which is at low price and then sell that coin after the increase in the price , do the same thing with more than 10+ coins ( means to say that buy multiple coins at same time and don't invest all of your money in the single coin) .
In this way you will get either better profit or better amount of loss , both of these will teach you that what you had done with your money and what was the good thing that you did and also what was the bad thing that you did and will never repeat that mistake again .

Rather than visiting some other websites to learn about cryptocurrency trading its good to go through our forum. This will help with the basic necessity and good knowledge about trading. Additional to that, it provides real life experience of people which gives clear understanding about trading.

Its just about doing your due diligence and looking at it through the lens of how institutional investors review traditional startups. Solving a problem? Is it a solution? Niche? Good team? Good advisors? product? sweat equity? own equity? bootstrapping? etc. Doing this will allow you to cut out 95% of the shit. From then on you just need to see what the ICO's (post crowdsale) burn rate will be and if the founders are competent.
