It has logic. Cryptonight uses 2MB L3 cache per core. So if your CPU has 16MB, that means it can utilize 8 cores. The rest of the cores can be used for something else. From what I have seen ROI does not care how much L3 cache you have, as longs as your clock speed is good. But I highly doubt that power usage iwll remain the same. Will try it out myself soon.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

You would be shocked. I have my rig on a power tracker and power don't go up any. However thread setting is the key. I found leaving 2mb free the best way. So XMR is only using 14mb. Also the affinity is a big player to get the most. Shocking for me was XMR got more when running on the HT and not the core when duel mining.

I have now got it working nice.

Set your Roi miner to main cores and xmr stak change that to the HT of each core. And only use 7 threads for xmr not 8.
My ROI earnings are only just lower than what they was befor adding xmr on to the cpu. But I have seen that the miners hash rate reports less even though roi.supernova round earnings are not much less. And now the added bonus of XMR for the win. Also tests on the mining with GPU and cpu are all good. GPU is as it was.

Again cores 0,2,4,6,8,10,12,14 on ROI and HT on XMR.

Hear is my XMR Stack CPU conf.
Code:
"cpu_threads_conf" :
[
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 3 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 5 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 7 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 9 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 11 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 13 },
    { "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : true, "affine_to_cpu" : 15 },
],

as you can see I have left the 1st thread off. This lets the CPU breath abit. If you use all of the threads she bottles. I found XMR and roi to be slower mining on the cores with xmr. Again maybe this is down to the 1800X cpu. It may well not be the same on others so playing is the key.

Also playing with the cores/threads have been done. I found this to be the best setup giving me over 440hs on XMR. So cant complain.
Again I would like to point out that this DUEL mining would be best for someone who mines XMR and is looking to fill there cpu to get the most from there rig. Roi miners can also get a nice bit of XMR if they have a big cpu such as a xeon or ryzen to max the profits.
If you are on a laptop mining Roi its not going to go so well on xmr. EG... My Laptop is a 3mb i5 2 core 4 thread. Mines ROI nice getting me around 80 to 100 coins a day. But XMR it would be lucky to hit 10hs.

Later in the week I will upload a vid to the ROI youtube and you can see my rig doing its thing.

Lol Thanks Wink dont worry DisasterFaster takes good care of me for the work I do for ROI coin (but the pay is low HAHA Hint hint DisasterFaster). I have had alot on over the last few months. But I do my bit when I can.

I really think that ROI coin could be the perfect counter part for XMR miner to make the most from there threads that are not in use.

With a good  tut vid (that I will do at the weekend) and posted in the right places we could well see ROI network hash boom.

Hey guys.

Been out of the ROI-loop for a while, just HODL'ing like a granny Smiley

Dual mining huh. This is pretty clever. This could very well be that "difference" we'll have, compared to other cpu coins. Nice!

Just wanted to tell others to play with there miners to improve hash rates.

Using a AMD 1800X Stock clock.

1 instance gets me around 700-820 HS. Surpnoava.cc reports this as around 750 HS.

Changing the CPU affinity with WINDOWS TASK MAN. To run 4 instances setting each one to use 2 threads gives me around 200-220 hs per instance. Supranova reports back 1200 hs. (More hash more pay)

instance 1 set to cpu 0 and 2

instance 2 set to cpu 4 and 6

instance 3 set to cpu 8 and 10

instance 4 set to cpu 12 and 14

So using 4 gb of ram for mining and each instance has its own user and password for suprnova.

Give it a play and see if you can make abit more coin for the same power use Cheesy

Thanks for the video. Is it possible to add c -config file for ROI so you don't have ti set affinity
in task manager?

It may well be, However this is the best way I have found so far.

I have had some peeps messaging me saying there is other coins that can be dual mined. Yes they are correct but this vid is CPU mining not GPU mining. So you could triple mine with XMR, ETH and Roi.

Remember ROI is CPU only and dual mining roi if you are a xmr miner will pay for its self off the ROI on its own Cheesy

I see the goal of the ROI coin project is very good "crypto currency for mass is simple and easy to use.
We have worked hard to give you non-technical altcoin and award-winning support. "
so this ROIcoin mining project is perfect for where we inventory,
everyone involved would surely feel it

Roi coin is one of the very few alt coins out that "ANYONE" can mine on a home pc or laptop. Its one of the few coins that has a dev team that are not just copy and paste masters.

Over the last 10 months there have been a problem or two here and there with the wallets and block chain. The devs have had the problems fixed and updates out there when needed 90% of the time befor anyone has even seen the problem. What other alt coins can say they have that kind of support from the devs?

When a alt coin comes to the world within a month or 2 you can get millions of coins on the exchanges. Roi coin is a coin that the miners are holding.
You can see this by the fact that 10 months on you can still not buy more than 600,000 coins from the exchanges. At the time of this post there is 105,365,900 Roi coins. So you could only buy 0.569444% of all the coins. Miners be hodling this coin well.

The dev team have a lot of new things in the workings coming soon.

Bountys each week on facebook and discord.

The future of ROI is most definitely good. Android wallet on the way, ecommerce on the way along with many other things in the pipe line.

As for value I my self see ROI jumping once ecommerce is ready this in tern will see the network hash jump due to demand.

Roi coin really is a coin for anyone weather you are a miner or a buyer ROI coin has something for you.

Thanks Raster!

The dev team is finishing up an important roadmap item as I type! The website e-commerce for ROI will be ready for launch today or tomorrow. This will hopefully create some new buy support / buy demand on the coin. Initially the store will be offering a variety of cryptocurrency services such as block explorer, seed nodes, QT wallet compiling and advertising. The advertised services can be purchased with ROI coin. In time we plan to add additional items for purchase in the store...

On another note the dev team is also working on an Android wallet, some new QT wallet enhancements and last but not least a paid marketing push is about to start. We plan to have all of the 3rd quarter 2018 roadmap tasks completed on or before the deadline Smiley
