Hi, I really hope someone can help me!

In 2013 I bought some bitcoin using Electrum 1.9.5 on my laptop

I have not done anything with it since.

Today I finally came back to bitcoin and I ran Electrum and everything is as I left it (3 transactions that I made when testing it in 2013)

HOWEVER I am unable to get it to connect (the network connection light remains red in the bottom right corner)

After reading that all I needed was the 12 phrase seed thingy I downloaded the latest version of Electrum (v3) on to my mobile phone (Android)

I entered the seed which is 100% correct and it shows 0 btc (and no transaction history, but I'm not sure if history is meant to be there or not)

Please can someone advise. I have read that some stuff changed when v2 came along but I'm really confused!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Assuming you are on windows.
Go to windows > run and type %appdata% hit enter and navigate to electrum folder and make sure to make backup copy our wallet.dat file to multiple places.

Also, from existing electrum do an export of private keys if it allows you to. I hope you remember your seed/wallet password.

Download the latest electrum from electrum site and install it then click on import (if it doesn't pick up the wallet) and you should be good to go.

If you have any questions, post them here. I am not sure about mobile wallet and i would stay away from them especially on google play store due to so much spamware on it.

electrum site: https://electrum.org/#home
make sure your PC doesn't have any malware so do a scan with antivirus etc. Learn how to send transactions using Air Gap pcs. If you have large amount then get Trezor or Nano Ledger S
