All you need is the wallet.dat file.

Personally I have five USB keys, different brands, and I copy wallet.dat to each one on a daily basis.

Really cheap and safe for short term backups.

How to backup a btc-qt wallet?

Step 1. Click on the File menu
Step 2. Click on Backup Wallet...


It is not necessary to back up your wallet every day. You must back it up at least every 100 sends.

Join an anti-signature campaign: Click ignore on the members of signature campaigns.

OK, so if you need to move the backup, can you simply just move this file around between PC's, between wallet-qt's?

Copying a backup is safe, but you can lose bitcoins if you share the wallet.dat file between computers and you are not careful.

Encrypt it before putting it in less than reputable places.
