I’m building a diversified crypto portfolio and I’m wondering if there is reason to invest in both BTC (Bitcoin) and  BCH (Bitcoin Cash). I know they aren’t correlated 1:1, but they do seem to move similarly. Am I actually diversifying by investing in both, or would they be expected to move the same way in the long-term?  If BTC corrects, would BCH most likely go down with it and vice versa?  It seems BCH could be a way to play BTC but on a “cheaper” scale or entry point.

Diversified crypto portfolio is good idea because lowers the risk of your portfolio. However, you must also consider that bitcoin controls 54% of the total crypto market value and BCH is still a new coin that came out as a result of a hard fork from bitcoin. I don't see much value of BCH for the future. Bitcoin is definitely a good investment for longer term, but BCH is still questionable. Instead try to invest in some different type of altcoins like Monero, Ripple, Litecoin, dash etc. I won't particularly suggest BCH.

Bitcoin and bitcoin cash both are too much different from each other.Bitcoin cash started by the btc miners which known  as hard fork.so bitcoin cash is devloped from the blockchain of bitcoin.in bitcoin cash  just the size of block increased for fast the transaction process.but bitcoin has very large history and bitcoin is the king of the crypto currency. And from 9 years it is very profitable for me.so i think bitcoin is very better than the bitcoin cash.

Diversifying the portfolio is a good choice but make sure the coins you are investing are good as well. Bitcoin is surely the best coin to invest in but don't think that Bitcoin Cash is related to Bitcoin. There might be times when the charts of both the coins go in the same direction but that does not mean that both are related. Some times BTC increases in price while BCH decreases. Consider BCH as another altcoin which was forked from Bitcoin. Bitcoin has a much larger community than BCH and therefore will be more sustainable than BCH.

How many % should a portfolio be with Bitcoins, Bitcoins cash and Litecoin if you are investing for a long time? Is the survivel of the cryptocurrency depending on Bitcoin?

Bitcoin Cash, which is the third by its value cryptocurrency in the world, is growing with the growth of BTC. Nevertheless, experts say that even the mass media hype connected with BTC and BCH also influences on its growth. Both will be increasing, I suppose.

Anyway you also buy some another alts. Like monero, wings or waves.

All investments are somewhat of a gamble. Read all you can and then make your own mind up on what to invest in. BCH could be a decent short-term option. The jury is still very much out on BCH but no matter what, it's not going to replicate the success of BTC.

Instead of having BCC (BCH) on your portfolio, you can add much more promising coins there. Fork bitcoins doesn't offer any benefit to the crypto currency users. All they do is to build a platform where they have full control over the system, saying this for BCC and BTG.

they don't move similarly at all. i don't know where you got that idea from.

for the short period of time, bitcoin cash is getting pumped and it may mimic the movement of bitcoin to some extent and after the pump of BCH is over in about a month or so (since we get over the SegWit2x drama) the price of it will come down and it goes back to being a dumped altcoin like the rest of them.

Bitcoin Cash was sold almost for $1000 and went down to less than $300 in less than 3 months, we can see its too volatile, more than some another alt coins, many ppl says BCH is dead.
But we can see that price is increasing in the last days, i'm not sure why, but i read recently that now 1,200 Restaurants is accepting it in Denmark and i received an email from bitmain that they only accept BCH to buy their miners.
Maybe its not dead but i prefer to buy another alts.

I think BCH, is a great altcoin, but not better than BTC. I prefer to invest in BTC, i will sell all my BCH and take a profit. On the future, a Altcoin will be a King, but i believe not BCH!

I'm not so fAmiliar with bitcoin cash yet because I only save bitcoin. However, based in my research it is also a medium to earn money which I think is still helpful to those who wants to earn extra income. If I have to choose , I will save both coins if possible because regardless of its price it is still profitable if managed well.

Bitcoin cash is a hard fork split in the bitcoin cryptocurrency network which occurred in August of 2017, during the hard fork those who were holding bitcoins got equal amount of bitcoin cash currency in the user's respective blockchain wallet.  Bitcoin cash block size is 8 MB and is extendable unlike bitcoins, bitcoin cash is just an updated version of the original bitcoin so the transactions done by bitcoin cash network is faster than the main stream version of bitcoin. Bitcoin has a block size of 2MB which is not extendable.

If your portfolio is intended for a long time investment then I would suggest get bitcoin then choose from other alt coins that has little prices, rather than going with bitcoin cash. You can get like 5 different altcoins and when at least one of those got a higher valur in the future then you might hit the jackpot.

BCH's price rose together with  BTC on the past weeks becasue of the fork, that was just cancelled.
