In Stock or Forex trading it is very common that trading platforms offer trading with leverage up to 1:100.
Are there any crypto exchanges who offer leveraged trading and if not, why not?

It's too high risk for crypto exchange to do with that leverage rates. So I think no crypto exchange support it in this time.

Of course trading with 1:50 or even 1:100 is high risk, mostly for the traders though, but at least it gives a chance (for people who know what they are doing) to make some money in day or swing trades.
If you only have $1000,  you need a really good opportunity to make some serious money, but if this $1000 controls $50.000 that's a whole other story.

Leveraged trading would probably mean that many fools would end up loosing their initial capital very quickly, but if the government is worried about these inexperienced people, they would have to shut down casinos immediately.

I think even a low leverage rate of 1:20 would be very nice for a start.

Poloniex offers margin trading for few altcoin pairs like ETH, XMR, LTC with 2.5x leverage.

Bitfinex also have margin trading with 3.3x leverage.

Simplefx offers upto 500x leverage for BTC-USD pair.

There are a few but not nearly as many as stocks/forex because there is so much more volatility in cryptos that it's not really necessary, I would advise extreme caution leveraging in cryptos.

The best leverage exchange is definitely Bitfinex, very liquid and among the most used .... it has a fixed lever at 3.3 that you can not modify, but it is much better so  Wink

Then there are Bittrex and Polinex exchanges that you can leverage up to x5 and you can choose.

BitMex can operate with lever from x5 to x100

My advice is to start with very small amounts, only with more liquid coins, to understand the operation and never use lever higher than x10; you risk getting hurt and burning all your tradign account!

May I ask if you have noticed or experienced sudden "spikes"  when higher leveraged, which easily could take out your position? It seemed a commen practice in Forex when being a bit over leveraged that you could experience a  margin call with a sudden spike against your position out of nowhere.
