The domain bitc-e.com was recently sold for $1k on a hacking forum, and is now setup as a phishing domain.  It was sold by poutine, responsible for stealing tens if not hundreds of thousands from people with bitcoins.

He also owns blockchain.com and has that for sale so watch out for it too.

Please post this in a place where it will get more views (reddit, another forum etc) as I cannot post anywhere else.

I couldn't agree more it is so easy to let people know a particular domain is bad, if you are buying it for black hat purposesnno domain is worth more than $75.

If he does end up phishing with it again it will be really easy to get the domain suspended as namecheap is a us registrar.

In short, xflat is dumb as a rock.

Haha what exactly did you report?

Its price is not a very relevant factor in its adoption....

You guys do realize that he was attempting to sell it to blockchain.info? They denied it.

https://i.imgur.com/zHcVcuO.png

Also, he DID sell btc-c.com, as proven by this screenshot:

Bad move on blockchain.info's part.  If it turns into a phishing site, they're going to lose hundreds of wallets to successful phishing attempts.

Regarding the existing bitc-e site, can't it be reported to all the anti-phishing filters for the various browser platforms?  That would at least help...

It's less stupid links, more typing in the wrong address.  I know I've typed in blockchain.com without thinking about it more than once.  If it came up to a site that looked exactly like blockchain.info, I'd be concerned for people who aren't paying attention who do the same thing.
