You're not in the same boat, you've got junk collateral, this user is offering up something reasonable.

I'm sure he'll get his loan.

Depending on the circumstances, you might be able to use this as collateral for a loan from a local pawn shop. That may give you better peace of mind then putting it in the mail and hoping a stranger on the internet gets it.

The problem I can see with this is that it could be a sell attempt due to you not being able to sell it, or could be that you do but know no one will likely buy it. There are many factors into using a physical collateral for a loan, which include the condition, if its locked/unlocked (and if its locked or icloud lock - if such a thing exist on that ipad - then youre out of luck), etc. You also shouldve stated your location, where are you willing to ship too, if you will cover the shipping from and too, etc. Imho, it may be best to pawn it, use the money and buy bitcoin, and then pay the amount you got back to the pawn shop.

The best option here would be to sell that, it's kinda hard to find someone who is willing to accept this kind of collateral as it includes a lot of fees.

Yeah I did leave a lot of unanswered  questions. It’s gently used like 10-15 times just for Netflix. It’s not iCloud locked or anything. Comes with a box and a charger but the box is dinged up. I’d be willing to cover the shipping both ways.

As I've told ya, some is not interested in physical collateral, only few have an interest in it, also you will go through with a lot of stuff like contacting escrow or you can send your physical collateral first.

P.S I hope this far you're not hoping to get a loan request. If I were you O.P I will loan for my near friends and use it as a collateral, that way you can easily get a loan and can easily paid it back and having back the items at the same time let alone using escrow.
