yeah i was searching and couldnt find the for the bitcoin block rewards dates. im looking for when the first one was that halfed the reward of bitcoins per block from 50 to 25 and the next block reducing dates

if you could link me tho a discussion that would be great thanks!

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

nevermind i looked at the graph
 
apparently that last reward half was in 2013 (explains the jump in price)

and the next reward half will occur in 2017 in guessing from 25 to 12.5?

Yeah, fewer coins introduced and demand stayed the same... price goes up. Then people started noticing.. and buying more causing demand to go up. price soared.. and people noticed.. and people started really investing.. and prices went crazy :X  hopefully next time it wont be like that. But who am i kidding, people are idiots.. ill be prepared xP
