Hello,

I recently lost the phone that has Google Authenticator and my Electrum wallet was set up with 2FA.  I followed the instructions to restore the wallet from seed with 2FA and 'disabling' 2FA at the end of the restore wizard, however my balance is now showing as 0.

Am I missing something here?  If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

since your addresses are the same then my guess is you have connectivity issue. you see after starting a wallet for the first time, it connects to Electrum servers/nodes and asks them for transactions that belong to you.
check to see if your Electrum is not blocked by firewall or something, see if you are connected to a server (a green circle should be at the bottom right corner) and you can click that circle to change servers.
if that didn't work, try closing Electrum and opening it again after a moment.

I checked again and actually the receive addresses are not the same.  I don't think I wrote the seed down wrong.  When I go into the original wallet and go to 'Wallet > Seed,' 'Seed' is grayed out.  Both the old and new wallets are syncing with the green dot in the bottom.

Any other ideas are greatly appreciated!

I found another seed phrase written down and it was the correct one.  Happy that I was able to restore successfully!  However, now I can't delete the old wallet as it says my password is incorrect.

the seed is grayed out by design in wallets with 2 factor authentication.
and for restoring, all the things i know of involve having the seed. the 2FA wallets that Electrum creates are 2 of 3 wallets and your seed is 2 of the keys but your wallet stores only 1 of them (so the seed is grayed out) and TrustedCoin has the other. to restore you use your seed to get 2 keys and that would be enough.

maybe someone else has some workaround like by contacting TrustedCoin and asking them for help but other than that you will need the seed.

edit: oops i didn't see your other comment Tongue

you don't have to delete the wallet, let it be there for now. and for deleting it you don't need any passwords. just go to its location and remove it
http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#where-is-my-wallet-file-located
be careful what you delete though!

I just renamed C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Electrum to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Electrum.bak and started Electrum and restored from the seed.

I believe I am good to go for now.  Next I will most likely create a new 2FA wallet and take a picture of the QR code and seed and store it somewhere offline.

Thanks for your help!
