Is there any chance with any mineable altcoin that I could make a little bit a value with a GTX 960 (2gb, I don't know if that makes a difference when mining) I don't need to worry about power (I don't know how much of a difference that makes)
Edit: Oops I typed 970 I ment 960, just realized that

Mostly, I would be on Zec but I would also read the announcement boards (same board that posts ICO and token announcements in alt coins) and look for new coins that are open to GPU mining. There is a lot going on in the crypto world right now and even what may seem like a crappy coin right now can blossom into wonderful things.
So, do this... mine zec or whatever mainstream crypto is hot and stable. Then, research the announcement pages for new coins and see if anything sounds new and interesting. Mine the new and interesting thing for as long as you feel like and then if you don't have time for research and stuff just go back to Zec.
And then... once you get some of these new and interesting coins start looking at trading exchanges to see what those shiny new coins might be worth and get yourself in on some trading action. Put those coins to work! Don't just let them collect dust in a wallet (unless of course there's a fork that makes you richer by having coins in a wallet)
yeah!

Check out http://whattomine.com/ to see what will be the most profitable, but be careful not to push your card too hard. One of my EVGA FTW 1070 GTXs caught fire last week, be sure to set the temperature as low as you can while maintaining a decent hash rate.

You'll need to do a little Googling to find your cards hashing rate, as it doesn't list the 960s anymore. That said, if you can find out your ETH hashing rate, you can easily enter it manually on WTM. Take http://whattomine.com/coins/211-pirl-ethash as an example. If your hashing rate is 30MHs adjust the hash rate box, set your power costs and hit calculate. It won't be super precise, but it will provide good directional info. Good luck.

I think there's a lot of profit to be made with this card. Just hide in some dark corner at night, ambush people and beat them to death with it. Then, steal their valuables and sell whatever you can. You can make as much as $10000 per night. Very profitable, if you ask me.

Well if you want an extra 30 buck per month, through it on nicehash and hope for the best.

My pair of GTX 960s are currently pointed at Nicehash (they're in my "backup" gaming machine so Win7 not LINUX). Machine also has a GTX 950 also mining to Nicehash. Current earnings are a little over $6/day for all 3 cards combined.
Machine as a whole has been a consistant $3/day or more earner for pretty much all of the last year, without using the A10 APU for mining at all.

My GTX 950 is making like 1.25 or more a day after power costs. Not great, but not bad for a card that I wasn't really using. I'd recommend multipool miner or awesome miner, multipool miner is easier to setup IMHO even though you have to edit a bat file.

The 4GB 960 on equihash is roughly equivalent to an HD 7850. ~160 sol/s, give or take. Your 2GB version shouldn't be much lower than that, if at all.
Profitability depends on your electricity costs, but don't expect much, regardless.

Say what you will about Nicehash, that's pretty good to be honest.

Nicehash is shit. Mine GoByte(neoscrypt) you get around $3 a day on the 960 2gb
